c.1950s. First Batch of Metro Manila College (MMC) Faculty Members.

Seated second from right is Mrs. Natividad M. Villano, the first principal of Novaliches Academy (NA), the former name of MMC and the first private high school in Novaliches. Mrs. Villano, the only living sibling of MMC founder Mamerto S. Miranda, is now 96 years old.

Starting with just 14 students as Novaliches Academy, MMC today serves over 4,000 students and offers advanced studies including a PhD in Development Education, MBA, MS in Criminal Justice, and MA programs in Education and Teaching.

At a time when MMC celebrates another graduation season, it is inspiring to look back at this photo of only eight pioneering faculty members, and reflect on how far the institution has come, from humble beginnings to the hundreds of graduates who march across the stage each year.
