A spark ignited in Poblacion Kitaotao as our community gathered for an inspiring Information Education Campaign, “Innovating for a Greener Future; Science in Action Against Climate Change.” Young, passionate minds from BPA 3rd Year, Creser Done Tumaquin, Eleine Marie Pelias, and Khenheart Adonis, took center stage, sharing their knowledge and inspiring action.

The event, held in Poblacion Kitaotao, brought together volunteers, purok leaders, and extension project officers to discuss the urgent issue of climate change. The students shared their knowledge on climate science, sustainable practices, and local solutions.

Together, we’re not just talking about a greener future; we’re building it, one step at a time. Kitaotao is committed to sustainable practices and environmental conservation, and this event was a testament to our collective effort. Let’s continue to innovate, inspire, and implement for a brighter, greener tomorrow.

𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐫’𝐬 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬: “Strengthening Community Capacity on Environmental Conservation and Management Program” 🌿

We’re delighted to share the success of our recent program Trainor’s Organizing and Training held on January 24, 2024, at Kitaotao Tennis Court, Poblacion, Kitaotao, Bukidnon.

The program was brought by the vibrant spirit of community with the active participation of the Purok Leaders and other participants. Also with the presence of Engr. Julie Mary Morales, Hon. Rodito Rafisura, and Ms. Angelou D. Balandra as our esteemed resource speakers for the day.

The people involved remained constant in being transparent and showcased the importance of collaboration for the success of the project regarding solid waste management. Their support and involvement are essential as we collectively strive for a cleaner, greener, and better Kitaotao.

“The Extension Program S.C.C.E.C.M.P. is deemed to become a research-based project, an extension of community engagement of BukSU Kitaotao Campus in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Kitaotao in promoting, enhancing public awareness, and having a sustainable solid waste management system.

The project is headed by the program leader, Dr. Wilfredo A. Martinez, the project leader, Ms. Hazel B. Reduca, the Lead Extensionists, Ms. Iresh G. Manangkila, and Ms. Grace O. Duterte with the SWM Extensionists."

The department is extremely grateful for all the unwavering support.

The Students and Faculty of 𝐁𝐮𝐤𝐢𝐝𝐧𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 - 𝐊𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐨 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 go beyond their academic roles, contributing dedication, enthusiasm, support, and leadership to both campus and community progress. They not only focus on advancements and innovations within the university but also actively engage with and collaborate with the broader community. Through their involvement, they aim to contribute to sustainable development goals.

The student extensionists served as the essential pillars for community growth, acting as leaders within the institution and representing the future of society.

•BukSU-Kitaotao Extension Unit First Convention•

The planning session held by the BukSU-Kitaotao Extension Unit last January 10, 2024, established a realistic tone for this year. Every organization, which are the JFMC, SBO, PPO, PAS, CCEPAG, the program leader, the project leader, and the sstudent extensionists attended the convention, which took place at the BukSU-Kitaotao Campus Conference Room. The goal of this project is to coordinate a set of initiatives focused on environmental awareness, management, and skills development for the residents of Poblacion Kitaotao, Bukidnon utilizing collaboration with pre-existing community groups.

The leaders worked together in a purpose-driven atmosphere to make sure the plans were feasible and applicable, with the potential to produce positive effects for society and the academic community. Through interactive sessions, there was a vibrant exchange of ideas, showcasing a collective commitment to community engagement and educational service. This gathering underscored the university's dedication to excellence and its proactive approach to advancing educational and social goals.
