MEET OUR SAFE PERSONS: THEIR STORIES, THEIR WORDS

Being a Safe Person is more than simply being someone students can approach. It is about listening without judgment, understanding, and creating a space where students feel comfortable being themselves.

As part of our Su***de Prevention Month 2026 activities, we sat down with our chosen Safe Persons and asked them about their experiences, perspectives, and what being a Safe Person means to them.

Get to know the people behind the title and the words they want every DCCPian to hear.

Changing the Narrative on Su***de: Start the Conversation.

💙 𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓 𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐒𝐀𝐅𝐄 𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐒 💙

Sometimes, having someone who listens without judgment can make a world of difference.

As part of our Su***de Prevention Month celebration, we proudly recognize the faculty members who were chosen by students as their Safe Person in their respective departments.

𝗕𝗘𝗘𝗗 - 𝗠𝗿. 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗼

These individuals have earned the trust of their students through their kindness, understanding, and willingness to listen. More than an award, being chosen as a Safe Person is a reminder of the impact a caring presence can have on someone who simply needs to be heard.

To our Safe Persons, thank you for being someone our students can turn to. Your presence helps remind them that they are heard, valued, and never alone. 🫂

Let’s continue changing the narrative on su***de and starting the conversation.

Congratulations to our Safe Persons! 💙

💜💙 𝗪𝗘𝗔𝗥 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗖𝗢𝗟𝗢𝗥 | 𝗦𝗘𝗣𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥 𝟭𝟬 💙💜

This Su***de Prevention Month, let’s show that every feeling deserves to be seen, heard, and understood. 💜

Join us this September 10 by wearing your assigned color and becoming part of a simple reminder: you are not alone, and it’s okay to reach out. Sometimes, a little color can start a conversation that someone may need.

👕 Male: Purple
👕 Female: Teal or Blue

Let’s wear our colors, start conversations, and create a school community where everyone feels safe to speak, listen, and ask for help. 🫂💙

Your color can be a conversation starter. Your presence can make a difference.
