CHEMISTRY INNOVATION TAKES CENTER STAGE AT THE 21st BICOL UNIVERSITY CHEMISTRY COLLOQUIUM

The brightest young minds in chemistry gathered on May 18, 2026 at the Bicol University Food Innovation and Commercialization Center for the highly anticipated 21st Bicol University Chemistry Colloquium on Student Researches (21BCC)!

Anchored on the inspiring theme, “Chemistry-based researches… from bioresources to products for sustainable materials, food, and health,” the event showcased groundbreaking student researches transforming local bioresources into innovative solutions for sustainability, nutrition, health, and advanced materials.

Students proudly presented their studies through Oral and Poster Presentations under four exciting research themes:

The event officially opened with welcome remarks from Dr. Samuel C. Bobiles, Chairman of the Department of Chemistry, followed by an inspiring message from Prof. Jocelyn E. Serrano, Dean of BUCS.

Distinguished experts from academia and industry served as evaluators, recognizing outstanding student researches that demonstrated scientific excellence, innovation, and relevance to community development.

Sa mga saloobing pilit na kinikimkim, sa mga oportunidad na unti-unting inaagaw mula sa bawat mamamayang pilipino, at sa mga karapatang dapat ay nakalaan simula pa man, naroroon ang sigaw na umuugat sa gawaing salungat sa katarungan.

Bahagi ng anumang kilusan laban sa kurapsyon ang pagtutol sa mga sistemang winawasak ng mga tiwaling mga opisyal na pinipili ang pansariling interes balewala sa kapakanan ng sambayanan. Ang bawat paninindigan, sa anumang pamamaraan, ay may iisang layuning iparating noon pa man. Walang lugar sa pundasyon na ating pinaglalaban ang kurapsyon.

Kaisa sa adhikain ng bayan ang organisasyon na buong pusong nakikiisa sa mga aktibidad laban sa katiwalian. Kagaya lamang ng aming layuning pahalagahan at ipalaganap ang agham at kimika sa nakararami, magsisimula ang bawat hakbang na tama. Sa pagkilalang may pandarayang nangyayari at naloloko tayong lahat ng mga nasa kapangyarihan.

Kaisa ang BU Chemical Science Society sa panawagang panagutin ang mga mapanlinlang at tiwaling nasa pwesto ngayong araw, September 21, kasabay ng pag-alala sa ika-53 taon ng paggunita ng Martial Law sa bansa. Hindi lamang sa pagsulong ng Kapnayan ngunit ang BU CheSS ay kasapi rin sa pagsulong ng pag-unlad na para sa kabutihang panlahat.
