OVERALL VOTER TURNOUT: The College of Forestry and Natural Resources (CFNR) recorded the highest voter turnout in the recently concluded University Student Council – College Student Council Elections held today, May 15, with 34.96%, or 301 out of 861 students, casting their votes.
Final voter turnout for the USC elections reached 22.45%, with 3,427 out of 15,268 students casting their votes. This reflects a decline from last year’s turnout of 34.84%.
Heading the newly elected USC is BA Communication Arts student Zeadric Joseph Roxas of Samahan ng Kabataan Para sa Bayan (SAKBAYAN UPLB), who garnered 2,484 votes to secure the position of USC Chairperson.
Joining him in the USC leadership is his slatemate from the College of Development Communication (CDC), Shaine Adrea Jariel, who was elected USC Vice Chairperson after obtaining 2,516 votes.

Amid worsening socio-economic conditions, budget cuts in state universities, intensifying state-sponsored threats against students and faculty, a prevailing culture of impunity, and the continued displacement of marginalized sectors within communities, the challenges confronting incoming UP Los Baños elected student leaders grow ever more urgent in the coming term.
