UPLB College of Human Ecology The College of Human Ecology is one of the eleven degree-granting units of the University of the Philippines Los Baños.

The College of Human Ecology (CHE) advocates and uses interdisciplinary, holistic, and integrative approaches to understand human-environment interactions. It envisions the development of human-centered, self-reliant, and ecologically stable communities by addressing basic human needs, resource utilization and management, environmental stability, and delivery of social services at the family and c

ommunity levels in the Philippines and in Asia. Its mission is to advance the body of knowledge in human ecology to improve operational capabilities and to strengthen functional commitment in human nutrition and food, human and family development, community and environmental resource planning, and social development services. In essence, CHE develops programs for research, training, and community service towards a desirable quality of life. CHE consists of three departments and an institute, namely: Department of Community and Environmental Resource Planning (DCERP), Department of Human and Family Development Studies (DHFDS), Department of Social Development Services (DSDS), and Institute of Human Nutrition and Food (IHNF). Maligayang Araw ng Kalayaan, Pilipinas! 🇵🇭

Ngayong ika-12 ng Hunyo, ginugunita natin ang tapang at sakripisyo ng mga Pilipinong naghangad ng kalayaan para sa bayan. Ngunit habang ipinagdiriwang natin ang ating kasarinlan, mahalaga ring pagnilayan ang mga hamong patuloy na humahadlang sa ganap na kalayaan ng marami—kahirapan, hindi pagkakapantay-pantay, pagkasira ng kalikasan, at lumalalang epekto ng pagbabago ng klima.

Sa pananaw ng Ekolohiyang Pantao, ang tunay na kalayaan ay hindi lamang kalayaan mula sa kolonyalismo o pananakop. Ito rin ay kalayaan mula sa mga banta sa ating kapaligiran, kabuhayan, kalusugan, at dignidad bilang tao. Ang kalayaan ay kakayahang makilahok, makapagpasya, at makipagkapwa sa paghubog ng mga komunidad na makatarungan, matatag, at napapanatili.
Sa araw na ito, nawa'y maging paalala ang ating kasaysayan na ang kalayaan ay isang patuloy na sama-samang gawain—ang kalayaang magkatuwang na lumikha ng inklusibo, matatag, at napapanatiling kinabukasan para sa lahat.

Maligayang Araw ng Kalayaan! Mabuhay ang sambayanang Pilipino. 🇵🇭

Ang bawat pagwagayway ng ating watawat ay patunay ng ating kasarinlan at ang makulay na kasaysayan sa likod nito—ang p**a ng dugo ng ating mga magigiting, ang bughaw ng kalangitang payapa, ang liwanag sa gitna ng dilim, at ang ginintuang sinag ng araw at mga bituin na pinagkakaisa ang ating mga kapuluan.

Sa pagdiriwang natin ng ika-128 anibersaryo ng Araw ng Kalayaan, nawa'y magsilbing paalala ang mga ito sa patuloy nating pakikibaka para sa tunay na kalayaan sa gitna ng kinakaharap na mga krisis ng ating bayan.
