As part of its continuing efforts to expand its network and strengthen academic partnerships across the ASEAN region, the Institute of Human Nutrition and Food (IHNF) served as a co-organizer of the 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫: 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐤𝐬, held on 3–13 August 2026 at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Diponegoro, Semarang, Indonesia.

Are you a Registered Nutritionist-Dietitian (RND) looking for an opportunity to be part of meaningful field research? We are looking for twelve (12) RNDs to join our research team as Data Collectors for a study on Nutrition and Food Security in selected small island communities in the Philippines. 🌴🥗

📍 Deployment: 4 RNDs per project site
• January: Banton, Romblon
• February: Pilar, Cebu
• March: Limasawa, Southern Leyte

📌 What you'll do:
• Administer nutrition and food security questionnaires
• Conduct 24-hour dietary recalls and dietary diversity assessment
• Perform anthropometric measurements among children under five and women of reproductive age
• Process 24-hour food recall data in the project's Google Sheet database
• Ensure accurate and complete data collection and documentation

🎓 Qualifications:
✔ Registered Nutritionist-Dietitian
✔ Proficient in dietary and anthropometric assessment
✔ Residing in or near the study site and able to communicate in the local language

💰 Competitive compensation: > Php 45,000 inclusive of allowances
💻 Training: December (online)
📅 Duration: 1 month per deployment

Fostering academic collaboration for better health education

On July 30, 2026, faculty members from the College of Allied Sciences at De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute (DLSMHSI) visited the Institute of Human Nutrition and Food (IHNF) for a benchmarking activity on our BS Nutrition program.

This collaborative session comes as DLSMHSI prepares for the launch of their upcoming BS Nutrition and Diet Therapy Program.
We’re honored to share our insights, exchange best practices, and work together toward elevating nutrition education in the Philippines!

The first batch of BSN practicumers recently participated in the HNF 199 (Undergraduate Seminar) training-orientation last 04 Aug 2026 at the CHE Multipurpose Hall.

Thank you to our invited resource persons from the Philippine Stakeholders for Nutrition and Dietetics, Inc. and UPLB CAS Department of Humanities who shared their expertise on career opportunities for RNDs and strengthening oral and written communication skills.

The Institute of Human Nutrition and Food (IHNF) of the College of Human Ecology proudly joins the nation in celebrating Breastfeeding Month and World Breastfeeding Week this August.

This year's World Breastfeeding Week 2026 theme, "𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞: 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬," underscores the importance of protecting, promoting, and supporting breastfeeding through evidence-based policies, programs, and community action. We are pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 2nd Southeast Asian Youth Forum on Food and Nutrition, which will be held on 21 October 2026.

This Forum serves as a regional platform for youth across Southeast Asia to exchange ideas, share perspectives, and propose innovative solutions to food and nutrition challenges affecting their communities and the region.

🍽️ Theme
“We Are More Than What We Eat: Shaping Food Choices Beyond the Plate”

This year, participants are encouraged to explore how social, cultural, economic, environmental, and policy factors shape food choices, and to put forward ideas that can help create healthier and more sustainable food environments.

👥 Applications are open to youth aged 18–35 years from Southeast Asian countries. Applicants must apply as individual or as a team of two representing the same university, college, or organization.

🌟 Selected Youth Speakers Will Receive:
