The UP Alliance of Students Unified for Sociology (UP ASUS) is a duly recognized academic-civic student organization for Sociology students in the University of the Philippines Los Baรฑos. Alliance of Students Unified for Sociology (UP ASUS) - a non-partisan academic-civic student organization - primarily seeks to promote Sociology and its creed to the general public. UP ASUS, as an academic-civic

organization, gives equal importance to the academic excellence of each of its members, as well as its recognition towards the social responsibilities - which members, collectively as an organization, hold as practitioners of Sociology within a rapidly changing society.

Para sa isang lipunang patuloy na ginagapos ng kasinungalingan at panlilinlang, hindi kailanman magiging kublihan ang pananahimik. Ang malayang pamamahayag ay hindi isang simpleng pribilehiyo kundi isang batayang karapatan at pananagutan sa bayan. Ngunit sa ilalim ng mga propagandang nagsisilbi lamang sa mga naghaharing-uri, buhay ang nagiging kabayaran para sa katotohanan, at pag-uusig ang kapalit ng pagpanig sa katarungan.

Ang mabisang pagsasalaysay ay hindi lang tungkulin, ito ay kapangyarihang nagliligtas ng buhay at nag-aahon sa bayang lugami sa pagkakadapa. Sa bawat kwentong ating ibinubunyag, tinatanggal natin ang mga piring na patuloy na nagpapadilim sa karanasan ng mga biktima ng kasinungalingan. Malayo pa ang laban upang tuluyang tanggalin ang mga busal na pilit na nagpapatahimik sa mga naglalakas-loob lumaban, kaya patuloy rin ang paninindigan para sa malayang pamamahayag.
