On September 4, 2026, resident members, alumni, and freshies united at the Jacqueโ€™s Roofdeck for a splendid night of artistic performances composed of songs and spoken poetry that embodied themes of relevant social causes that emerge in society today, such as laborersโ€™, activistsโ€™, and womenโ€™s rights, and many more.

Among the performers during the event is notable alumni, activist, and cultural performer, ๐—•๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ฑ ๐—”๐—ฟ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐— ๐—ฎ๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐—ผ (Batch Paradigm Shift โ€˜98).

Last ๐—ฆ๐—ฒ๐—ฝ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐Ÿฎ-๐Ÿฐ, ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฒ, the UPLB Sociology Society launched the Banyuhay 2026: Photo Exhibit with the theme โ€œ๐—•๐—ฎ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜† ๐—•๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜†๐˜‚๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜†โ€ at the CAS Annex 1 Lobby. The theme highlights how SocioSoc has served as a home for academic pursuit, honing over 6 Summa Cum Laude, 31 Magna Cum Laude, and 67 Cum Laude graduates over the past 51 years. More than that, the photo exhibit highlights how SocioSoc has successfully shaped leaders within and beyond the University who withstood several socio-political transformations while living up to critical, dynamic, and holistic principles in studying and serving society.

Furthermore, the photo exhibit adopted a hyperrealist art style, which presented an illusion of reality at a time when real life and technology in the form of artificial intelligence converge. Ultimately, it also featured how SocioSoc became a living embodiment of this Banyuhay by initiating projects and involving itself in movements that advocate development in the lives of the Filipino people.

The UPLB Sociology Society is joined with ๐——๐—ฟ. ๐—ฃ๐—ฒ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ฒ ๐—•. ๐——๐—ฒ๐—น ๐—ฅ๐—ผ๐˜€๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ผ, an associate professor and the Chair of the Department of Social Forestry and Forest Governance, UPLB College of Forestry and Natural Resources. Dr. Del Rosario tackled the importance of developing critical thinkers in preserving social inquiry in the midst of constant transformations in society, especially in the technological era. He furthermore posed thought-provoking questions on how social scientists can navigate the changing society and contribute to societal development as AI grows exponentially.

Apart from his rich discussion, the Banyuhay Symposium also became an avenue for students from different disciplines to raise their own inquiry and participate in a โ€œRethinking Togetherโ€ segment where they shared their insights on the topic in discussion.
