The Department of Engineering Science (DES), CEAT, UPLB has secured a ₱32.8-million research grant from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) through the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (PCIEERD) for the project “Fabrication of Transition Metal Oxide Based Microsupercapacitors as Energy Storage Device for Sensor Microsystems (μ-cap).”

The two-year project, led by 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝘁. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗘. 𝗔𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗼, 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗿𝘂𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟯𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟴.

📢 𝗘𝗡𝗦𝗖 𝟮𝟲 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 (𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗮𝗹)

The opening of one (1) ENSC 26 lecture section and two (2) laboratory sections is currently awaiting approval from the OVCAA. As such, these sections are not yet reflected in AMIS.

However, 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟴.

Proposed Schedule:

Lecture (for both ENSC 26 A-1L and A-2L)
• MTWThFS, 7:00–8:25 AM

Laboratory
• ENSC 26 A-1L: MWF, 8:45 AM–12:15 PM
• ENSC 26 A-2L: MWF, 1:00–4:30 PM

Priority for enrollment will be given to students included in the petition list. Due to limited laboratory resources and available computer workstations, each laboratory section can accommodate a maximum of 16 students only.

Further updates will be posted once the sections have been officially approved and are already reflected in AMIS.

For the incoming Midyear 2026, please be reminded of the following regarding enlistment via Teacher’s Prerogative for ENSC courses:

𝗘𝗡𝗦𝗖 𝟭𝟬.𝟭 - Each section can accommodate up to 16 students only, due to resource limitations.

𝗘𝗡𝗦𝗖 𝟭𝟭 - Physical (F2F) attendance on June 08 is required, as lectures will already start on that day. Each section can accommodate up to 30 students only.

𝗘𝗡𝗦𝗖 𝟭𝟮 – Physical (F2F) attendance on June 08 is required, as lectures will already start on that day. Each section can accommodate up to 40 students only. Applicants must not be enrolled in any other ENSC courses.

𝗘𝗡𝗦𝗖 𝟭𝟯 - Physical (F2F) attendance on June 08 is required, as lectures will already start on that day. Each section can accommodate up to 30 students only. Applicants must not be enrolled in ENSC 12, ENSC 16, or ENSC 21.

For the incoming Midyear 2026, ALL enlisted ENSC 10.1 students are required to acquire and bring the following manual drafting tools by 𝟬𝟴 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 (𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆):

𝗧𝗢𝗢𝗟𝗦 𝗡𝗘𝗘𝗗𝗘𝗗 𝗧𝗢 𝗙𝗨𝗟𝗙𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦 𝗢𝗙 𝗘𝗡𝗦𝗖 𝟭𝟬.𝟭
The first half of ENSC 10.1 involves manual drafting and so the student must acquire the necessary drafting tools by the start of classes.

𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝:
o T-square (~60cm at most)
o Triangles (30-60 & 45-45)
o Set (0.1, 0.3, 0.5 or 0.2, 0.4, 0.6) of non-blotting techpen (example: Unipin)
o HB Mechanical pencil
o Compass with pen adapter/holder (should fit tech pen)
o Eraser
o Masking Tape

The Department of Engineering Science (DES) will implement a priority-based enlistment system for ENSC courses this Midyear 2026. This aims to ensure that retakers and delayed first-time takers are given proper consideration in the limited slots available.

How it works:

1. Students who wish to enroll in 𝗘𝗡𝗦𝗖 𝟭𝟭, 𝗘𝗡𝗦𝗖 𝟭𝟮, 𝗘𝗡𝗦𝗖 𝟭𝟯, 𝗘𝗡𝗦𝗖 𝟭𝟲, 𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝗡𝗦𝗖 𝟮𝟭 must submit the corresponding Google Form for each course they intend to take. 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲: ENSC 10.1 will follow the usual registration process and will not require a priority application.

2. The Google Form serves as your application to be included in the 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁. The DES Registration Committee will screen all applicants and select students who will be granted Departmental Consent to enroll via AMIS during the registration period for Midyear 2026 (June 4–5).

3. Selected students will receive an email by 𝟬𝟯 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 with instructions on how to proceed.

4. Those not included in the priority list may still try to enlist via AMIS (𝗶𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗹𝗼𝘁𝘀) or through Teacher’s Prerogative during the first week of classes.

With the forecasted high heat index, students seeking cooler study spaces are welcome to stay at the 𝗖𝗘𝗔𝗧 𝗕-𝟮𝟬𝟰 (𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝗺), designated as a learning hub, from Monday to Friday, 8AM to 5PM 𝗘𝗫𝗖𝗘𝗣𝗧 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2:30PM to 4:00PM.

Water dispensers will be available, so please bring your own tumblers for refills.
