We asked our freshies to share their thoughts, first impressions, and experiences about the University and their new home in DAME.

During the DAME Freshie Orientation 2026 last August 17, we took some clips to hear what our freshies had to share! Now, we want to maintain this good first impression by ensuring we do our part for our students.

Welcome to DAME, Freshies! Good luck on your journey!

The Department proudly celebrates the remarkable achievement of our students in the Young Farmers’ Challenge (YFC) Provincial Level for Region IV-A!

With six innovative enterprise ideas led by 10 BS ABME students, our students emerged as provincial winners, demonstrating their entrepreneurial innovations as value-adding solutions for the agricultural sector.

Each winning enterprise received ₱80,000, bringing the cohort’s total winnings to an impressive ₱480,000, which will serve as seed capital for their respective start-ups.

But we’re not done yet! As we await the results from the other provinces and regions, we remain hopeful and excited for our students who are currently competing in other categories.

Congratulations to the Entrepreneurship Cluster led by Asst. Prof. Rei Chino C. Pua and all of the DAME faculty involved. Off to the Regionals! Let's go, Entreps!

We are confident that Ms. Aira will contribute meaningfully to the exemplary standards we are continuing to build at DAME now, further strengthening the quality of services we provide to our stakeholders, most especially our students.

Last August 17, 2026, the Department welcomed its newest batch of students during the DAME Freshie Orientation held at the REDREC Auditorium.

The activity gave our freshies the opportunity to get to know the Department, gain a clearer picture of the path they are about to take, and learn more about the student and support services available to them as they begin their journey in DAME.

The freshies were inspired by the message of our distinguished alumnus, Mr. Christopher S. Pastrana, President and CEO of CAPP Industries and Chairman of Archipelago Philippines Ferries Corp., who shared valuable insights from his own journey and words of encouragement for our newest DAME students.

The Department also extends its gratitude to Dr. Ma. Angeles O. Catelo, CEM Dean, for her warm welcome remarks, and to Prof. Rowena A. Dorado, CEM College Secretary, for taking the time to join us and welcome our freshies. The program was hosted by Asst. Prof. Paola Bianca M. Santander, who served as the event’s emcee.

Through the activity, we hope to have given our freshies a glimpse of what it means to be part of DAME and to begin instilling in them the values, culture, and . Adding a student perspective to the program, Ms. Reisha Aquino, an AA Entrepreneurship student, and Mr. Genesis Haylan Mendoza, a BS ABME student, shared their experiences and insights on what it is like to be a UPLB-DAME student.

And of course, we hope our freshies enjoyed the treats prepared especially for them! Our thanks to our alumnus for the McDonald’s snacks and to NutriAsia for the generous assortment of sponsored products. Yahoo!!

𝐀𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐃𝐀𝐌𝐄 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐲 𝐆𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐚 𝐏𝐡𝐃 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲

Let’s send some love and our best wishes to Asst. Prof. Remund Jordan D. Labios as he begins his PhD in Business Administration at the Virata School of Business, University of the Philippines Diliman, in the 1st Semester of A.Y. 2026–2027!

Sir Remund will pursue his PhD on a part-time basis while continuing to serve DAME and handle units of coursework. We believe that the knowledge and experiences he gains along the way will also bring valuable insights to the Department.

We’re not yet sure though if this will be his last academic journey, but one thing we know is that Sir Remund never seems to run out of opportunities to learn and grow. With two master’s degrees in different fields already under his belt, we’re looking forward to seeing where this next chapter takes him!

Wishing you all the best, Sir Remund! We’re rooting for you all the way! ❤️
