While your vigilance often unfolds beyond the public eye, please know that your sacrifices are always seen, felt, and valued. My Dear SKSU family,

As we stand together on this last Monday flag-raising ceremony of 2025, allow me to speak not as a President alone, but as a fellow servant of this University—grateful, humbled, and hopeful.

This year, we have written another beautiful story of Sultan Kudarat State University. Each office opened its doors, each classroom came alive, each extension activity reached communities, and each quiet act of service—often unseen—became part of our shared legacy. For this, I thank you sincerely. SKSU moves forward not because of one leader, but because of a community that believes in our direction.

To our students, who remain the very heart of this University, and to all of you who serve them every day: may we never tire of giving our best. Let us continue to improve, innovate, and elevate our standards, not out of obligation, but out of love for learning and service.

Excellence is not a destination; it is a discipline we renew every day.

Allow me also a moment of humility. If in the course of this year my words, decisions, or actions caused pain or misunderstanding, I ask for your forgiveness. It was never my intention to embarrass or diminish anyone. Any firmness you may have felt came from a place of responsibility—to correct, to guide, and to protect the institution we all serve.

Leadership sometimes requires difficult conversations, but always with respect and goodwill.

Just last Friday, we gathered together with our families in the spirit of the season—even on a declared holiday—reminding us that service does not pause when the calendar says so, and that unity transcends occasions. That gesture alone speaks volumes about the heart of the SKSU family.

As we close 2025, let us carry forward what this year has taught us:

gratitude over entitlement,
service over comfort,
and unity over division.

May the coming year find us stronger in purpose, kinder in spirit, and more committed than ever to our students and to one another.

Thank you for your dedication. Thank you for your sacrifices. Thank you for making SKSU not just an institution—but a home that provides solutions and innovations.

General Santos City - Sultan Kudarat State University proudly culminates another productive year in research and extension with the successful conduct of the Research and Extension Year-End In-House Review and Planning Workshop, held at Venue 88 Hotel and Place on November 22-23, 2025. The event was graced by the presence of University President Dr. Samson L. Molao, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovation Dr. Badu M. Panimbang, Director for Research Gemma A. Constantino, MS, and Director for Extension Dr. Michael John D. Benavidez, whose guidance and support continue to inspire excellence in SKSU’s research and extension endeavors.

This milestone event gathered faculty researchers, extension implementers, project leaders and evaluators from all campuses to present, assess, and enhance research and extension programs. It served as a vital platform for presenting and reviewing completed and ongoing research projects and extension programs, ensuring that each initiative meets the highest standards of quality, relevance, and impact. Through constructive discussions, feedback, and evaluations, the participants collectively strengthened the design, implementation, and sustainability of SKSU’s research and extension undertakings.

In line with global development priorities, SKSU’s research and extension programs also contribute to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), SDG 10 (Reduce Inequalities), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for Goals).

As SKSU closes the year with renewed vigor and purpose, the University reaffirms its dedication to fostering research and extension programs that not only advance knowledge but also uplift communities, promote sustainable development, and strengthen the University’s role as a center of learning, innovation, and service in the region.
