RATIONALE:
Grounded in the Augustinian-Marian philosophy of education, LCUP envisions the formation of individuals who are not only intellectually competent but also morally upright, spiritually grounded, and committed to service.
Inspired by the teachings of St. Augustine, education is seen as a journey toward truth through interiority, reflection, and the integration of knowledge and values. In this light, the formation of teachers becomes a sacred responsibility—one that calls for both academic excellence and a deep sense of vocation.
Guided by the maternal example of Our Lady of Consolation, the University emphasizes a nurturing, compassionate, and inclusive approach to education. This is especially significant in Early Childhood Education, where the role of the teacher extends beyond instruction to include care, formation, and the holistic development of the child.
The proposed President’s Scholarship Program is therefore anchored on the belief that future educators must be formed as servant-leaders, embodying the University’s core values of Courage, Compassion, Community-Orientedness, Humility, Interiority, and Missionary Spirit.
Furthermore, aligned with the LCUP Financial Assistance Program (FAP) , this initiative promotes equitable access to quality education, enabling deserving students to pursue their academic goals regardless of financial constraints.
Through this program, LCUP seeks to invest in the formation of committed Early Childhood educators who will contribute meaningfully to the development of young learners and to the broader educational landscape.

The President’s Scholarship Program aims to:
