Sa pagdiriwang ng okasyong ito, alalahanin natin ang mga Pilipinong nagpakita ng walang kapantay na tapang sa harap ng digmaan at pagsubok. Ang kanilang dugo at pawis ay nagsilbing ilaw na gumabay sa kalayaang ating tinatamasa ngayon.

Bilang mga Pilipino, tungkulin nating lahat panatilihing buhay ang diwa ng kanilang kagitingan sa pamamagitan ng pagmamahal at paglilingkod sa bayan. Sa paraang ito, ang kanilang sakripisyo ay hindi masasayang.
