The University of the East College of Dentistry has produced not one but two topnotchers in the recently concluded licensure examination for dentistsโled by 1st Place topnotcher Irish Kyle Katipunan Mateo, who bested all examinees nationwide with an overall rating of 87.73%!
A July 2025 UE CDent Doctor of Dental Medicine graduate, Cum Laude, Dr. Mateo is joined in the top 10 by fellow July 2025 graduate Dominic Russell Navarro Santos, whose own overall DLE 2025 rating is not far behind at 86.57%.
These two brand-new Warrior topnotchers are among the newest batch of 61 UE College of Dentistry graduates to have passed the Dentist Licensure Examinations.
In addition, UE CDent emerged as the second highest-ranking dental school in the latest DLE that fielded 50 or more examinees and attained at least 80% as overall passing percentage: A total of 61 (out of 62) UE Doctor of Dental Medicine graduates passed the exam, making for a 98.39% passing percentage.
Among its latest batch of first-time examinees, UE CDent attained a 98.25% first-timers passing percentage as 56 out of 57 first-time takers passed the latest DLE.
Meanwhile, all five of UE CDentโs DMD graduates who were exam re-takers passed the latest DLE, making for a 100% repeaters passing percentage.
A total of 33 dental schools nationwide were represented by the 1,474 examinees across the country that took the latest DLE as administered by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Board of Dentistry last November 24-26 for the theoretical phase and last December 1-6 for the practical phase. Of those examinees, 1,282 passed the exam, making for a national overall passing percentage of 86.97%.
The UE College of Dentistry in effect bested all three national passing percentages of the latest DLE: in terms of overall passing percentage (98.39% vs. 86.97%), first-timersโ passing percentage (98.25% vs. 93%) and re-takersโ passing percentage (100% vs. 70.90%).
