We in UE wish all those who will take the examination to become licensed dentists—especially graduates of the UE College of Dentistry's Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) program—the best of luck as they take the exam's practical phase within this Monday to Thursday!

The Professional Regulation Commission's Professional Regulatory Board of Dentistry is administering on May 11-14, 2026, the practical phase of the Licensure Examination for Dentists in the National Capital Region.

This comes after the conduct of the exam's written phase in the NCR, Cebu, Davao and Baguio last May 4 to 6.

The overall exam results are due out by May 20, 2026.

The University of the East College of Dentistry has produced not one but two topnotchers in the recently concluded licensure examination for dentists—led by 1st Place topnotcher Irish Kyle Katipunan Mateo, who bested all examinees nationwide with an overall rating of 87.73%!

A July 2025 UE CDent Doctor of Dental Medicine graduate, Cum Laude, Dr. Mateo is joined in the top 10 by fellow July 2025 graduate Dominic Russell Navarro Santos, whose own overall DLE 2025 rating is not far behind at 86.57%.

These two brand-new Warrior topnotchers are among the newest batch of 61 UE College of Dentistry graduates to have passed the Dentist Licensure Examinations.

In addition, UE CDent emerged as the second highest-ranking dental school in the latest DLE that fielded 50 or more examinees and attained at least 80% as overall passing percentage: A total of 61 (out of 62) UE Doctor of Dental Medicine graduates passed the exam, making for a 98.39% passing percentage.

Among its latest batch of first-time examinees, UE CDent attained a 98.25% first-timers passing percentage as 56 out of 57 first-time takers passed the latest DLE.

Meanwhile, all five of UE CDent’s DMD graduates who were exam re-takers passed the latest DLE, making for a 100% repeaters passing percentage.

A total of 33 dental schools nationwide were represented by the 1,474 examinees across the country that took the latest DLE as administered by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Board of Dentistry last November 24-26 for the theoretical phase and last December 1-6 for the practical phase. Of those examinees, 1,282 passed the exam, making for a national overall passing percentage of 86.97%.

The UE College of Dentistry in effect bested all three national passing percentages of the latest DLE: in terms of overall passing percentage (98.39% vs. 86.97%), first-timers’ passing percentage (98.25% vs. 93%) and re-takers’ passing percentage (100% vs. 70.90%).

Heads up, College and Graduate Warriors: College and graduate classes for Summer 2026 of UE Manila and UE Caloocan will start on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

This covers the UE Graduate School (GS) and the UE Colleges of Law (CLaw), Dentistry (CDent), Arts and Sciences-Manila and -Caloocan (CAS), Business Administration-Manila and Caloocan (CBA), Computer Studies and Systems (CCSS), Education (CEduc), Engineering-Manila and Caloocan (CEng’g), and Fine Arts, Architecture and Design (CFAD).

The UE college and graduate ADMISSION schedule for Summer 2026 is from May 11 to 20.

The UE college and graduate REGISTRATION/ENROLLMENT schedules for Summer 2026 are from May 7 to to 20 for all curricular years; May 11 to 20 for transferees and degree-holders; and May 13 to 20 for Cross-Registrants.

Enrollment is through the respective dean's offices.

Heads up, Senior High School Warriors: University of the East-Manila and -Caloocan SHS classes in both levels for Summer 2026 will start in the coming second week of May.

UE SHS classes will begin online on Monday, May 11, 2026, followed by face-to-face classes on Tuesday, May 12.

ADMISSION and REGISTRATION/ENROLLMENT for UE SHS Summer 2026 classes of both UE campuses is ongoing up to May 11.

The last recitation day for UE SHS Summer 2026 students will be on June 16, while the final exam day will be on June 17.

Enrollment is through your respective Principal’s offices.

UE ADVISORY

The University of the East is aware of the ongoing cybersecurity incident and system maintenance involving Canvas LMS by Instructure, which has affected several institutions worldwide. Instructure has placed certain services under maintenance while investigations and security measures are being undertaken.

At present, the University is closely coordinating with Instructure and monitoring official updates regarding the matter. Canvas LMS remains operational and accessible to UE constituents.

Students, faculty members, and employees are advised to exercise vigilance and and observe the following:

1. Change passwords immediately for security purposes; if the same password is used for other accounts, those passwords should likewise be updated.
2. Monitor official University communication channels and university email accounts for updates and advisories.
3. Exercise caution against phishing emails, suspicious links, or requests for account credentials.
4. Report any unusual account activity or suspicious communications to the UE Information Technology Department (Manila: [email protected]; Caloocan: [email protected]).

Steps to change your Canvas LMS password:
1. Login to your Canvas LMS account.
2. Under Global Navigation, click Account, then Settings.
3. Click Edit Settings.
4. Click Change Password checkbox and follow the instructions.

UE COLLEGE OF LAW GRAD APPOINTED NATIONAL COMMISSIONER FOR MUSLIM FILIPINOS

Sultan Masideng Marohombsar Salic of the Royal Sultanate of Tubok, a graduate of the University of the East College of Law, was recently appointed as Commissioner of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF).

Commissioner Salic, who earned his Bachelor of Laws (now Juris Doctor) degree from the UE College of Law in 1998, was appointed by Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on March 25, 2026, and his designation was formalized when he took his oath of office before NCMF Secretary Sabuddin N. Abdurahim and officially assumed office on April 8, 2026.

Prior to his appointment as Commissioner, Sultan Masideng Marohombsar Salic served as Director IV of the NCMF for over a decade. His service spans over three decades across multiple administrations, having been appointed as Director IV during the terms of President Benigno Aquino III, President Rodrigo R. Duterte, and now President Marcos Jr.

Commissioner Salic also holds the distinction of being the first presidentially appointed Director IV of the NCMF, specifically the Bureau of Pilgrimage and Endowment, following the abolition of the Office on Muslim Affairs (OMA) and the establishment of the Commission. He entered government service in an entry-level position and progressed through the ranks, beginning as Budget Officer I, then Budget Officer III, and later serving as Chief of the Endowment Division under the Bureau of Pilgrimage and Endowment (BPE) of the OMA. He also served as Acting Director of the Finance and Management Service of the OMA during the administration of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

Prior to earning his UE law degree, Commissioner Salic took up Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, major in Accounting, from the National College of Business and Arts.

The appointments by successive Presidents of the Republic reflect their trust and confidence in Sultan Salic’s knowledge, leadership, experience, and longstanding commitment to public service. His elevation to Commissioner underscores his extensive experience and sustained dedication to advancing the welfare, cultural heritage, and development of Muslim Filipinos.
