In celebration of Benilde Global Week 2026, Benildeans got to immerse themselves in foreign language classes led by distinguished partner institutions.

Participants learned conversational basics and cultural nuances across three global languages ~ Mandarin Chinese, Italian, and Spanish.

19 October 2026 — Flavors Beyond 2.0

The Benildean Community got to taste flavors that make a difference, savoring authentic global cuisines prepared by refugee and asylum-seeker entrepreneurs.

Held at The Atrium@Benilde, the food bazaar brought the community together to experience world cultures through food, with 100% of proceeds directly supporting the vendors’ livelihoods and families.

The food offerings included Liberian, Turkish, Palestinian, Pakistani and Syrian cuisines.

The event opened with insightful perspectives on global displacement from guest speakers representing the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) UNHCR Philippines , CFSI - Community and Family Services International , and local refugee entrepreneurs.

The event was hosted by Benilde School of Diplomacy and Governance , Benilde Center for Social Action, Center for External Linkages, and Community and Family Services International.

Meet the faces bringing REX to life! 🎭 Get to know the cast of this production by the Benilde School of Arts, Culture, and Performance - SACP.

As the Po family grapples with its ties to corrupt flood control projects, torrential rains leave more than a hundred dead and counting in the city of Tebes. In a desperate bid to escape prosecution and save their company, St. Paul the Apostle Constructions, the household unwittingly confronts a past long-buried yet bound to them all—a past that, once seen clearly, leads to tragedy.

Based on Sophocles’ “Oedipus the King”, “Rex” reimagines the Greek classic against the urgent realities still plaguing our country.

De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, through the Benilde School of Arts, Culture, and Performance - SACP, officially inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with De La Salle Lipa (DLSL) Integrated School to collaborate on arts and culture educational initiatives, faculty training, and student development.

Leveraging SACP’s expertise across Creative Industries Management, Performing Arts in Dance, Theater Arts, Production Design, Music Production, and Culture-Based Arts, this partnership aims to enrich the creative expression of DLSL learners and educators.

Following the MOA signing, SACP conducted specialized workshops for participants in the following areas:

• Understanding Play Production: From Script to Stage
• Acting, Characterization, and Character Development
• Stagecraft and Production Design

Benilde was represented at the MOA signing by Vice Chancellor for Academics Angelo Marco Lacson and School of Arts, Culture, and Performance Dean Magda De Leon.

De La Salle Lipa representatives included Chancellor Dr. Teodosia Merlin C. Suarez, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academics – Integrated School Kristine Anne C. Dimaculangan, External Linkages and Relations Office Director Grace C. Sanchez, and Subject Area Chair for English Marlene Breones.

IN FOCUS: SDG Ambassador's Lecture Series featuring H.E. Karel Hejč

19 October 2026 — Dobrý den! Benilde welcomed H.E. Karel Hejč, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Philippines, for his SDG Ambassador's Lecture Series titled “The Philippines and the Czech Republic: Decades of Diplomatic and Cultural Synergy,” held at the Digital Film Screening Room of the Design + Arts Campus.

The lecture aimed to foster international understanding and spread awareness about the long-standing partnership between the Philippines and the Czech Republic across diplomatic, economic, and cultural spheres.

Present in the lecture were School of Diplomacy and Governance OIC-Dean Catherine Samaniego and Center for External Linkages Director Sherlo Reyes.

The SDG Ambassador's Lecture Series is part of the Benilde Global Week 2026 celebrations from October 19 to 23, 2026, spearheaded by Benilde Global and Center for External Linkages.

17 October 2026 — DepEd Teachers on FSL Level 1 Training

De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde officially partnered with public schools to help empower DepEd Philippines (DepEd) teachers and school personnel with essential communication skills, fostering a more inclusive, accessible, and welcoming learning environment for Deaf learners.

The initiative kicked off with the Filipino Sign Language (FSL) Level 1 Training Program, centered on Deaf Awareness, Culture, and Identity. This session marks the start of a dedicated effort to support receiving teachers in building barrier-free classrooms in line with Republic Act No. 11106 (The FSL Act).

Benilde leaders present at the session were Vice Chancellor for Academics Angelo Marco Lacson, School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies (SDEAS) Dean Dr. Marian Patricia Bea Francisco, and Center for Deaf Esteem and Formation Director Agnes Canayon.
