COLLEGE OF POLITICAL SCIENCE AND PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION STUDENT COUNCIL

The College Of Political Science and Public Administration Student Council, elected by students of the said college, is supreme of all organizations within the college and is in the authority to protect and promote studentsโ€™ rights and welfare, to uplift studentsโ€™ social awareness, and to cultivate student nationalism by servi

ng as studentsโ€™ representative in voicing out studentsโ€™ views and opinions, addressing student concerns and by educational discussions. The Council is composed of students who not only excel in leadership but academically as well, for it is on the belief that a student leader can serve as a good role model by exemplifying boundless leadership skills. It is the responsibility of the council to maximize the potentials of each student, to maintain close coordination among the students of the college and to guarantee that students are fully imparted of all information that directly affects student life which is necessary for students to engage in the decision-making process. The Council seeks ways on how student life could further be improved by recruiting aspirant leaders in the group of Junior Council Officers and by organizing activities and events throughout the year which are all aimed at the common good and general welfare of the CPSPA students. Also, in line with its mission, the student council plays a leading role in the conduct of the following events, but not limited to: College Freshmen orientation, General Assembly, forums and seminars. By conducting leadership seminars, students are given the chance to expose the โ€˜leadership spiritโ€™ hidden in their pockets waiting to be tapped. Inspired with the โ€˜true leadersโ€™ of our nation, the student council envisions to heighten and mold a sense of nationalism within the heart of the students by conducting forums and educational discussions so as to produce a more competitive and responsible servant leader and citizen of the country. The council also visualizes a student body which is responsible enough to cater the needs of the students. The Council foresees a valued, assertive, responsible and nationalistic enough student body. Should you have any inquiries and concerns, you may visit the office of the CPSPA Student Council, located at W209, 2nd floor of PUP Main Building.

This event took place on June 14, 2026, at Brgy. 581 Zone 57, District 4, Sampaloc, Manila.

As part of their requirements for the Civic Welfare and Service Training, the students provided the youth of Brgy. 581 with valuable information on informed voting and responsible citizenship. The speakers for the seminar included Mr. Jose Andrei P. Ariola and Mx. Tanya Reverie Rafana.

CPSPA SC Councilor Joselle Bernard Fernandez and Junior Political Economists Guild Finance Officer Alexa Abdon, alongside SCO Louie Castillo, attended the event. We extend our gratitude to the entire first-year BAPE class for conducting this seminar, as it emphasizes the important role of the youth in selecting future leaders and equips them with the knowledge needed to choose trustworthy and deserving leaders.

The Student Regent holds a unique and vital position in the governance of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, serving as the sole student representative in the Universityโ€™s Board of Regentsโ€”the highest policy-making body of the institution. As such, the selection of the next Student Regent is not merely a procedural undertaking but a significant exercise in student representation, leadership, and democratic participation.

Through SR WATCH, the CPSPA Student Council commits to keeping the student body informed and engaged throughout the selection process for the 20th PUP Student Regent. This initiative aims to provide timely updates, promote transparency, and encourage meaningful discourse on the qualifications, advocacies, and visions of those who seek to carry the voice of the students in university governance.

๐Ÿ“… June 22, 2026 โ€“ Release of Official Nominees
๐Ÿ“… July 5, 2026 โ€“ Deliberation and Selection

As we approach this important milestone, we invite every Iskolar ng Bayan to stay informed, participate in discussions, and take an active interest in the future of student representation in PUP. The Student Regent serves not only as a representative but also as an advocate who brings student concerns, aspirations, and welfare directly to the highest levels of decision-making within the University.
