𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | On May 2026, the Adamson University Student Government (AUSG) kept the engine alive through 𝐀𝐋𝐖𝐀𝐍 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔: 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐤𝐚𝐬 𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐏𝐚𝐠-𝐚𝐬𝐚 𝐬𝐚 𝐏𝐮𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐠𝐤𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚!
The jeepney drivers from Pandacan Transport Service Multi-Purpose Cooperative warmly welcomed the AUSG. The event commenced with the welcoming remarks of Mr. Marianito Palma, Board Director, who expressed his gratitude to the student government for its initiative.
“Nais ko po magpasalamat sa Adamson [University] dahil isa tayo sa pinili nila para mabigyan ng kasiyahan [at] mabigyan ng gift,” he stated.
Throughout the program, the student government prepared fun games and activities related to the beneficiaries’ line of work, such as the “Guess the Price” gasoline edition and the fastest coin-counting challenge.
Atty. Jan Nelin Navallasca, adviser of Adamson University Student Government, expressed his solidarity with the jeepney drivers during his inspirational talk. He mentioned how wars in other countries contribute to the increasing fuel prices in the Philippines.
He also highlighted how corruption affects efforts to help jeepney drivers during times of calamity and hinders the country’s progress by connecting it to the 3 C’s—Competence, Character, and Charity—which are among the teachings of St. Vincent de Paul, the patron saint of Adamson University.
“Alam naman natin sa ating gobyerno, sa ating panahon ngayon, marami tayong mga leader na magagaling. Kaya lang, parang [ang] problema ‘yung character. May mga issue tayo about corruption,” Atty. Navallasca asserted.
The student government also distributed in-kind donations as part of the program.
The program concluded with the closing remarks of AUSG President Mr. Paul Angelo Fabia, who thanked the franchise for welcoming the Adamson community and the jeepney drivers for their active participation, which contributed to the success of the event.
“Literal na kayo po ‘yung isa sa tumutulong sa mga kababayan natin. Kasi hindi naman po lahat [ay] afford ‘yung transportation na kagaya ng mga kotse, kagaya ng mga mamahalin na transportation system. So, mula sa inyo, natutulungan niyo po ‘yung mga kababayan natin,” Fabia said.
This event hopes to serve as a reminder that jeepney drivers are not alone in the struggle they face. There are people willing to listen, support, and stand with them throughout the journey.
Because in every trip they make, they do not only transport passengers—they also carry hope for their families and communities.
