g UP Manila, he taught history for many years at the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P). He is a translator for the Sentro ng Wikang Filipino - UP Manila. He is the co-author and co-editor of Kaalaman at Pamamaraan sa Pagtuturo ng Kasaysayan (2008), the first guidebook on teaching history in Filipino, and Pantayong Pananaw at Paninindigang Pulitikal (2021). He also co-authored the only comprehensive re-publication, translation, and analysis of The Aquino Papers, initially published by The Bangkok Post in 1973. Additionally, he authored the official study guides for the historical films Heneral Luna (2015), Ang Hapis at Himagsik ni Hermano Puli (2016), and Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral (2018), as well as a guide for The Kingmaker (2019), Lauren Greenfieldβs documentary on Imelda Marcos. He received the One UP Faculty Grant in the Social Sciences for Outstanding Teaching and Public Service. His research interests include Filipino nationalism, the intersections of film and history, Philippine contemporary history, the Marcos era, the Philippine press, and the life and writings of Senator Benigno βNinoyβ Aquino Jr. He is a sought-after speaker on Philippine history, history education, and heritage tourism. Recently, he has been appointed as Training Specialist for the Cultural Leadership Institute of the Nayong Pilipino Foundation (NPF), an attached agency of the Department of Tourism (DOT). He will be teaching the history module of NPF's training program for tour guides all over the country.
