RHIZA MAE DAMASIN
Content Team Lead | Digital Marketing Professional
We are truly delighted to feature one of our very own, Rhiza — a proud alumna of the Department of Philosophy whose journey from our classrooms to the world of digital marketing is both inspiring and worth celebrating.
Rhiza graduated Cum Laude in 2013 and consistently made the Dean's List throughout her undergraduate years at Mindanao State University. Her love for learning did not stop there. She went on to pursue a Master of Arts in Philosophy at the University of San Carlos, Talamban Campus, Cebu City, completing her academic requirements under the CHED-FDP II scholarship — a well-deserved recognition of her dedication and academic excellence.
Before finding her footing in the digital space, Rhiza spent a meaningful decade in education. She taught for 8 years at La Salle University Ozamiz (serving as the Department Chair of the Social Sciences Dept. for 2 years) and for 2 more years in the Senior High School Department of the Department of Education.
When she made the shift to freelance work in 2019, balancing online writing with her teaching career, it became clear that philosophy had quietly been preparing her for it all along. The ability to think critically, communicate with clarity, and approach problems with a calm and reasoned mind — these are the gifts our discipline gives, and Rhiza has put them to excellent use.
Today, she brings eight years of SEO copywriting experience to her role as Content Team Lead at a digital marketing company based in Tampa, Florida, a position she has held for the past three years. She leads her writing team with confidence, overseeing workflows, mentoring her colleagues, and making sure every piece of content that goes out truly meets the standard.
Rhiza's story is a wonderful reminder that a philosophy degree opens more doors than people might expect. More than anything, it shapes how you think — and that, as Rhiza's career shows, makes all the difference.
Congratulations, Rhiza! We are proud to call you one of ours!
