The road to becoming a competent nurse requires readiness for the unexpected, and the Level 4 BS Nursing Students of the MSU College of Health Sciences (CHS), also called as the Batch Inara, took a major leap forward today, October 1, 2025. They began their Basic Life Support Training, preparing them to face life-or-death emergencies head-on.
To guarantee top-tier instruction, the CHS partnered with the ๐๐ฆ๐๐ข ๐๐๐ค๐ฉ๐๐ค ๐๐๐๐ข๐๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ซ, fielding an impressive team of expert trainers. This team of seasoned registered nurses include:
The first half of the day focused entirely on the theory of saving a life. Four of the trainers led the morning session, breaking down complicated emergency topics into simple, step-by-step knowledge. The students learned about the principles of emergency care, the basics of BLS, and the core techniques of cardiopulmonary resuscitation. They also discussed the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), which delivers an electric shock to restart the heart, and how to perform rescue breathing for respiratory arrest. A critical topic was also addressed: managing a Foreign Body Airway Obstruction, or what to do when someone is choking.
After absorbing all the necessary information, the afternoon was dedicated to hands-on learning. The second half of the day involved a detailed demonstration of all the skills taught. This practical segment ensures that the Batch Inara students don't just know the steps but can confidently perform them when seconds count.
Today marked the essential beginning of the Batch Inaraโs emergency preparedness. By the time this training concludes, these students will be fully equipped with the skills and confidence required to become capable, life-saving front-line healthcare providers, ready to save a life wherever they may be.
