As part of its tradition and consistent pursuits on health promotion, the College of Health Sciences organizes a commemoratory event on HIV/AIDS, joining the worldwide celebration of World AIDS Day. This worldwide celebration serves as a reminder of the global struggle to end HIV-related stigma and to promote empathy and inclusivity to people living with and affected by HIV.
For the first time in the history of College of Health Scienceโs annual celebration, the once college-centered event will be celebrated university-wide this year and will be organized by Batch Sinagtala. With the theme โ๐๐ ๐ฃ๐๐ ๐ธ๐๐ป๐ ๐ป๐๐ช ๐๐: โ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ฃ ๐๐๐ โ๐ ๐๐๐๐ฅโ, join us as we remember those who once suffered and lost their lives to the disease and to continually commit to ending HIV-related stigma-promoting inclusivity that allows those who are suffering feel belonging that is warmer than Heatherโs sweater.
Accordingly, the following activities are to be expected on the event:

The Amazing HIV Awareness Race is a unique and impactful event aimed at spreading awareness and promoting knowledge about HIV in an engaging and fun way. In this race, participants will embark on a thrilling journey through various game stations, each cleverly modified to convey essential information about HIV and its prevention. The race is designed to empower individuals with accurate knowledge, break down stigma, and promote a compassionate and inclusive society. There will be a registration fee of PHP 100 per team. Payments can be made by walk-in or through GCash. Please refer to the details indicated in the registration form.

This event is dedicated to shedding light on the realities of HIV/AIDS and fostering a sense of unity in our community. Through a unique blend of interactive game booths, informative educational setups, and thought-provoking exhibits, we aim to break down barriers, dispel misconceptions, and rally support for those affected by HIV/AIDS. This event will be showcasing game booths, educational exhibit booths, and food booths. All revenues generated will be returned to the batch.

A dedicated platform to gain insights into the complexities of HIV and AIDS. This seminar aims to educate, inform, and engage attendees in an effort to combat misinformation, reduce stigma, and promote proactive steps towards prevention and support. The 2 topics for the seminar are:
- AIDS/HIV Scenario: Lanao del Sur & Philippines Update
- Empowering Communities: Combatting HIV/AIDS and Stigma
There will be a registration fee of PHP 50; this is inclusive of the participants' snacks, certificates, and kits.

Attendees of the awareness seminar can receive rapid and confidential HIV testing free of charge. Trained healthcare professionals from Amai Pakpak Medical Center will conduct the tests with sensitivity and discretion. This event will provide easy access to HIV testing and promote awareness about the importance of knowing oneโs HIV status.

An opportunity for students from all corners of the university to make a meaningful impact and contribute to a more informed and empathetic society by creating a campaign video on breaking the stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS. These campaign videos should aim to educate, raise awareness, and promote understanding.
