On August 12, 2026, BS Mathematics and BS Statistics students came together for a day of cleaning, organizing, and serving the department, followed by our Pre-Orientation for the new academic year.

The Pre-Orientation welcomed and introduced our freshmen, while giving students an overview of the upcoming activities and plans for the academic year.

From the early morning preparations to working together in different rooms and areas, every helping hand made a difference. It was a day filled with teamwork, laughter, shared responsibility, and new beginnings. โค๏ธ

We know your journey wasnโ€™t always linear. There were days when the formulas didnโ€™t make sense, when the datasets refused to cooperate, when the proofs seemed impossible, and when giving up felt easier than trying again. Yet, just like every difficult problem, you kept searching, revising, and believing that there was always a way forward.

The incoming fourth-year students of the Mathematics Department have officially embarked on their On-the-Job Training (OJT) journey across various offices of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA). Through this experiential learning opportunity, they apply the knowledge and skills acquired from their academic training while strengthening their analytical thinking, technical competence, professionalism, communication, and collaboration in real-world work environments.

The Mathematics Department deployed its undergraduate students who are pursuing the degrees of Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Bachelor of Science in Statistics for their On-the-Job Training (OJT) across various offices in Metro Manila and in Cagayan de Oro City of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) under the guidance of this year's OJT Coordinator, Prof. Analyn C. The OJT activity is an internship program that is intended to bridge classroom learning and professional practice as well as to provide students with meaningful opportunities to apply their knowledge, strengthen their skills, and gain valuable experience in the field.
