Eastern Samar State University-Maydolong Campus officially kicked off its 65th founding anniversary celebration today, June 18, 2026.

The festivities commenced with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony dedicated to Felipe Abrigo, widely recognized as a pioneering founding father of education in Eastern Samar. Following the opening rites, ESSU President Dr. Andres C. Pagatpatan, Jr. delivered an inspiring keynote address to the ESSU-M community, putting an emphasis on investing in education.

The dayโ€™s event also featured an awarding ceremony recognizing dedicated faculty and staff with the Loyalty Award for their service in ESSU-Maydolong.

Concluding the opening day with a high note, a vibrant motorcade was held to honor the historic achievement of the first-ever LEPT topnotcher from ESSU-Maydolong, Mr. Jommy Mark S. Obina, and to honor all the March 2026 LEPT passers.

Dr. Torilloโ€™s study directly addressed the conferenceโ€™s theme, โ€œEducation Research for Impact,โ€ by showing how integrating artificial intelligence enhances technological and pedagogical readiness for future Science teachers.

The Eastern Samar State University-Maydolong Campus celebrates the high performance rating of its graduates from the College of Education that significantly surpassed the national passing rate in both elementary and secondary levels in the March 2026 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT).

The Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECEd) program got an 82.86% passing rate for its first-time takers and 60% passing rate for its retakers. The overall performance of 77.78% notably exceeded the 56.03% national passing percentage.

The BECEd likewise proudly celebrates its first-ever topnotcher, Mr. Jommy Mark S. Obina, who ranked 7th among topnotchers.

Meanwhile, the secondary education programs namely: Bachelor of Physical Education, Bachelor of Culture and Arts Education, and Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education got 90.63% passing rate for its first-time takers and 33.33% passing rate for its retakers. The 78.05% overall performance for the secondary education programs outperformed the 73.10% national passing percentage.

The BTLEd program also celebrates a 100% passing rate for its takers.

With this shining achievements, the ESSU-Maydolong community extends its warmest congratulations to the sixty-seven (67) new Licensed Professional Teachers. Mabuhay!
