On April 18, 2026, the third and nth year students of the BS in Chemistry program of the University of the Philippines Visayas were officially proclaimed as OJT-ready during the Second OJT Pinning and Lab Coat Donning with the theme โ๐ข๐ป๐๐ผ ๐ช๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ผ๐ป๐: ๐ฆ๐๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ฝ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ถ๐ป๐๐ผ ๐ฎ ๐ช๐ผ๐ฟ๐น๐ฑ ๐๐ฒ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐บ๐๐น๐ฎ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ง๐ต๐ฒ๐ผ๐ฟ๐โ.
Joined by the professors of the UPV Department of Chemistry, proud parents, guardians, and friends, the ceremony was nothing short of exhilarating. The department chairperson, Ma'am Rica Cainglet gave her warm welcoming remarks to the students and their companions alike, reminding students of their responsibility as future chemists. The keynote speaker, Mr. Roxzien Shaye Sesbreรฑo, RCh, a Science Research Specialist II of the DOST VI-RSTL, highlighted the impact of chemistry on various industries and the ethical and moral characteristics that must be upheld by chemists in their pursuit of excellence and service to the nation. Finally, the program was capped off by the Batch 2023 Representative, Ms. Hannah Rochellee Magno.
May the imparted words and knowledge from this ceremony bring enlightenment to the soon-to-be interns and may their respective OJT companies enhance and nurture their chemistry skills in ardent preparation for the real world, allowing them to return with newly imbued vigour!
