🌈 DISCOVERING THE JOY OF PATIENCE 🌈

What a fun and happy 3-day VBS adventure! 🥰📖
Through the teamwork of Alcantara Church of Christ, Badian Church of Christ, and Moalboal Church of Christ, around 50 cheerful kids gathered together to learn about God, make new friends, sing songs, create crafts, and discover that waiting on God can be joyful too! 💛

🏠 The first VBS was held at the Alcantara congregation, where little hearts were filled with Bible lessons, laughter, and love.

📖 Day 1: We learned about Abraham and Sarah and how they patiently waited for God’s promise.
🎨 Crafts, smiles, and excited little hands filled the room!

🙏 Day 2: Hannah’s Prayer taught us that God listens when we pray and trust Him patiently.
💖 The children enjoyed stories, games, and fun activities together!

🏆 Day 3: A day full of happy memories!
The children received awards, school supplies, souvenirs, and enjoyed yummy rice, pancit, and fried chicken together! 🍗🍝🍚

Seeing the children laugh, learn, pray, and grow in God’s Word was truly a blessing. 🌻
Thank you to all teachers, volunteers, parents, and congregations who shared their love and support to make this VBS special for every child.

Little hearts learning big lessons for God.🩵

The message of the Book of Nahum speaks into real human experience under pressure—when people feel powerless under systems they cannot easily change, and when leadership and institutions seem overwhelming or disappointing.

Nahum was originally spoken into a world dominated by Nineveh, a symbol of political strength, fear, and oppression. To ordinary people living under such a system, it likely felt like nothing would ever change. Yet the theological message is clear: God is not distant from unjust structures, nor indifferent to the suffering they cause.

The book presents God as both patient and just—“slow to anger,” yet never ignoring what is wrong (Nahum 1:3). This means that delay is not absence, and silence is not approval. In other words, what feels like God’s “waiting” is not forgetfulness, but restraint rooted in justice and mercy.

For communities like the Philippines, where people often wrestle with issues of governance, integrity, and public trust, Nahum offers a grounding perspective: human systems are fragile, even when they appear strong, and they are ultimately accountable to God. This does not lead to hopelessness or anger, but to a sober awareness that truth and righteousness are not erased by political power.

At the same time, Nahum is not only about judgment—it is also about comfort. The declaration that “The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble” (Nahum 1:7) speaks directly to people carrying frustration, fatigue, or concern about the future. It reminds the faithful that stability is not ultimately found in human leadership, but in the character of God.

In this sense, Nahum invites a practical response: to remain faithful in integrity, to resist normalization of wrongdoing, and to continue doing what is right even when systems feel discouraging.

And so the final word is this: when human power shakes, divine justice does not; when human systems fail, God’s righteousness still stands—and it will have the last word over every nation, every leader, and every generation.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY🤰🏼🫄🏾🤱

Heavenly Father,

Today we thank You for the gift of mothers for their gentle hands, patient hearts, quiet sacrifices, and endless love that reflects Your goodness every day. 🌸🌼🌻

Bless every mother with strength when they are weary, peace when life feels heavy, and joy in the beautiful calling You have entrusted to them. May their homes be filled with love, faith, and Your unfailing presence.

For the mothers who are praying silently, struggling quietly, and giving selflessly, remind them that their labor is never unseen and their love is deeply valued.

Lord, may every mother continue to walk in grace and wisdom, knowing that “many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” — Proverbs 31:29 ✨

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mothers and mother figures. You are truly a blessing from God. 💖
