The spirit of unity and inclusivity continued as the second Iftar gathering was successfully held on March 18, 2026, at the New Naawan Municipal Hall. The event brought together students, university officials, and local government representatives in a shared celebration of the holy month of Ramadan.

The program formally commenced with a warm welcome and acknowledgment of guests delivered by the Director of the Office of the Student Welfare, Assoc. Prof. Juvy S. Arjona. In her opening message, she expressed gratitude to all attendees and emphasized the importance of fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
In her expressed message, MSUN Chancellor Dr. Elnor C. Roa highlighted the universityโ€™s commitment to inclusivity, stressing that Muslim students are valued not only within the campus but also in the wider community. She underscored the administrationโ€™s efforts to ensure that the observance of Ramadan remains meaningful and spiritually enriching, while encouraging unity and cultural understanding among students.
The Iftar proper commenced with a prayer, marking the breaking of the fast, followed by the sharing of a communal meal. The gathering reflected the essence of Ramadan through a simple yet meaningful celebration of faith, gratitude, and fellowship.

During the program, Naawan Vice Mayor Allan B. Roa delivered a message of appreciation, recognizing the universityโ€™s initiative in fostering cultural sensitivity and strengthening ties between the academic institution and the local government.

In addition, Supreme Student Council President Mr. Frances B. Maliao conveyed his message of support, affirming that Muslim students are always welcome and valued within the student body. He emphasized openness to diversity and the importance of mutual respect among students of different cultural and religious backgrounds.
Meanwhile, Muslim Student Association President Motalib Arumpac expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the university administration, sponsors, and all participants for their collective efforts in ensuring the success of the event. He noted that initiatives such as the Iftar gathering not only deepen spiritual connections during Ramadan but also promote camaraderie, understanding, and unity among students.

The success of the event was also made possible through the valuable assistance of the Hospitality Management students, headed by Mr. Jewison Ello, together with selected KAABAG members and SSC Officers, who diligently helped in the preparation and set-up of the venue. Their support ensured a well-organized and welcoming atmosphere for all attendees.

Furthermore, the successful conduct of the Iftar Gathering highlights MSUNโ€™s steadfast dedication to student welfare, cultural awareness, and fostering an inclusive academic community where diversity is valued and embraced.

OSW Director Juvy S. Arjona opening the program with a welcome message, framing the discussion as a crucial part of the universityโ€™s role in student development. It was a call to move from simply experiencing love to understanding its responsibilities.

๐—”๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—น๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ผ kicked off the discourse by charting the evolution of courtship. He contrasted the era of handwritten letters and landline calls with todayโ€™s algorithm-driven matches, posing a critical question to the students: How much do we really know about the person behind the profile? He stressed that while technology has made connecting easier, it has also created new vulnerabilities. He urged them to become digitally literate detectives of their own lives, guarding personal information, verifying identities before trusting, and understanding the permanence of their online actions.

Following the first session, Arleen B. Uy, MPA, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Services, delivered an inspirational message reminding the students that love must always be grounded in responsibility. โ€œ๐—Ÿ๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐˜„๐—ถ๐˜๐—ต ๐—ฏ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐—ธ๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—ฝ๐˜€ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐˜€๐—ฎ๐—ณ๐—ฒ,โ€ she stated, reinforcing the core message of the event.

Dr. Chardine Ganancial-Roa continued the discussion with โ€œ๐—Ÿ๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐—ถ๐—ป ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ง๐—ถ๐—บ๐—ฒ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—”๐—น๐—ด๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐˜๐—ต๐—บ๐˜€,โ€ focusing on consent, legal accountability, and emotional well-being. She also tackled the concept of "๐˜€๐—ถ๐˜๐˜‚๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ฝ๐˜€""โ€”those ambiguous digital entanglements that often lack definition. She warned that the convenience of a click can easily lead to danger, emphasizing that consent is the non-negotiable foundation of any relationship. It must be clear, voluntary, and enthusiastic, she explained, linking it directly to Philippine laws like the Safe Spaces Act and the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act. Her message was clear: the digital world has real-world consequences and managing oneโ€™s emotions and setting firm boundaries are acts of self-preservation.

In her closing reflection, Arjona offered a powerful realization: while the event declared that love knows no bound, true love must, in fact, recognize boundaries. She concluded that love grounded in respect, consent, and responsibility is the kind that protects oneโ€™s dignity and future.

Love, in its truest sense, she concluded, is not about limitless abandon, but about responsibility, respect, and the courage to define what you will and will not accept. For the students of MSUN, the event served as a powerful lesson for a generation navigating matters of the heart in a digital age: that the strongest love is one grounded in self-worth and clearly drawn lines.
