𝐅𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐋 𝐂𝐀𝐓 𝐃𝐀𝐘🐈‍⬛

Not all cats have a home to call their own, but that doesn’t mean they deserve any less love and care. This Feral Cat Day, let’s take a moment to appreciate our community cats and remember that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a difference in their lives.

Whether it’s leaving food and clean water, helping a stray cat in need, or supporting humane ways to care for them, every little effort counts. They may be shy or afraid of people, but they still deserve to live safely and peacefully.

Let’s be kinder to our feline friends and remind everyone that compassion should extend to every animal, with or without a home. Because every cat deserves a chance to live a better life.

𝗡𝗢 𝗟𝗜𝗠𝗜𝗧𝗦, 𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗡𝗘𝗘𝗗𝗦

Not every pet experiences the world in the same way. Some may be 𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗱, 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗳, 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘇𝗲𝗱, 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗯, 𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 that affect how they move, communicate, or interact with their surroundings. But having a disability does not mean they cannot live happy, fulfilling lives. With appropriate care and adaptations, many pets with disabilities can continue to enjoy their everyday activities and maintain a good quality of life.

Caring for a pet with special needs means understanding what makes them feel safe and comfortable. 𝗕𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝘁𝘀 may benefit from a consistent environment and fewer obstacles, while 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗳 𝗽𝗲𝘁𝘀 can be taught visual or touch-based signals and should be protected from hazards they cannot hear. Pets with mobility difficulties may need safer flooring, accessible spaces, assistance with movement, or veterinary rehabilitation when appropriate.

Their needs may require more patience, but they do not require less love. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘢𝘭 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘢𝘴 𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴—𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭. Regular veterinary care is important because the right support depends on the individual pet, their condition, and their abilities.

Yesterday, October 7, 2026, the 𝗖𝗦𝗣𝗖–𝗣𝗮𝘄𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗶𝗿𝗰𝗹𝗲 held the Reading and Approval of 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗡𝗼. 001, 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 2026–2027, formally appointing 𝗠𝗿. 𝗩𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗹 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹𝗼 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝘀 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗿 and designating 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗿. 𝗦𝗲𝘁𝗵 𝗕. 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗿 of the organization. Animal cruelty is not always visible through physical violence. Neglect is also a form of cruelty—when an animal is consistently deprived of proper food, clean water, adequate shelter, veterinary care, hygiene, or other basic needs. Signs such as extreme thinness, untreated wounds, illness, severe matting, overgrown nails, unsafe living conditions, and prolonged exposure to harsh weather may indicate neglect.

In the Philippines, the Animal Welfare Act (Republic Act No. 8485), as amended by Republic Act No. 10631, protects animals from abuse, maltreatment, cruelty, and neglect. It emphasizes the responsibility of owners and handlers to provide animals with proper care, sustenance, and shelter.

If you witness possible animal cruelty or neglect, do not ignore it. Safely document what you observe and report the incident to the appropriate authorities. Speaking up can help protect animals from further suffering and ensure that they receive the care they deserve.

𝗟𝗢𝗩𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗠 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗘.

We get it—those 𝗰𝗵𝘂𝗯𝗯𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀, round bellies, and tiny food-loving faces are too cute to resist. But sometimes, saying “one more treat” isn’t the best way to say “I love you.”

For our pets, extra weight isn’t just about how they look. It can make 𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗷𝘂𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴, and even simply moving around more difficult. Over time, it may also put their health at risk.

So instead of showing love through an extra scoop, let’s show it through better portions, healthier meals, playtime, movement, and proper care.

They may not understand why we have to say “no more treats for now,” but they’ll feel the difference when they have more energy to run, more strength to play, and more 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 to spend beside us.

After all, loving our pets means caring for the body they have to live in—not just spoiling the face we can’t say no to.
