Cavite State University Naic, through its Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences Department (FASD), strengthens its commitment to fisheries technology development and enterprise innovation as 𝗠𝘀. 𝗠𝗮. 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗲 𝗠. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗳𝗶𝗹, 𝘍𝘈𝘚𝘋 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘪𝘳𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯, participated in the Training on Fattening of Mangrove Crab in Brackishwater Ponds held on October 20–22, 2026, at the National Fisheries Research and Development Institute–Brackishwater Fisheries Research and Development Center (NFRDI-BFRDC) in Lala, Lanao del Norte.

Organized by the NFRDI-BFRDC through the AquaBiz School–Technology Business Incubation Program, the training aimed to enhance participants’ knowledge and practical skills in mangrove crab fattening. The program featured lectures on the introduction to mangrove crabs and their production package of technology, followed by hands-on sessions on proper pond preparation, installation of pond components and structures, and crab stocking.

Representing CvSU Naic, Ms. Marfil is an incubatee under the Package of Technology: Fattening of Mangrove Crab in Brackishwater Ponds, which provides opportunities to strengthen technical expertise and promote the application of fisheries innovations in sustainable aquaculture and enterprise development.

Through this initiative, CvSU Naic continues to support capacity building, technology adoption, and the advancement of fisheries and aquaculture practices that contribute to sustainable livelihoods and community development.

Cavite State University Naic Campus, through the Office of the Director for Curriculum and Instruction (ODCI), successfully conducted the 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗦𝗢-𝗤𝗠𝗦 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 on October 26, 2026, at the Campus Conference Room, AquaBEST Building.

The activity aimed to strengthen the university’s commitment to quality assurance by promoting proper laboratory maintenance, accurate equipment calibration, standardized procedures, and systematic documentation to support ISO-QMS compliance and continuous institutional improvement.

The program commenced with the opening remarks of 𝗗𝗿. 𝗔𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮-𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗼𝘀, 𝘋𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘊𝘶𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘶𝘮 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, who emphasized collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement in maintaining quality standards across laboratory operations. This was followed by the statement of purpose and objectives delivered by 𝗠𝗿. 𝗘𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗘. 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗼, 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘋𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘪𝘳𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯, who highlighted the importance of aligning laboratory practices and documentation with institutional standards and operational requirements.

The technical sessions featured 𝗗𝗿. 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝗼𝗹𝗼 𝗕. 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗼, 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘖𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘳, who discussed laboratory maintenance, equipment calibration, quality forms, and procedures in relation to ISO-QMS compliance and daily operations. Meanwhile, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗼𝘀𝗮, 𝘓𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘊𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘌𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘋𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵, discussed the fundamentals of laboratory calibration, emphasizing accurate measurements, proper equipment handling, and adherence to established procedures.

The activity also provided an avenue for laboratory custodians from different departments and faculty members handling laboratory subjects to collaborate in aligning procedures, identifying documentation gaps, and reviewing and validating quality forms, maintenance records, and calibration documents. These discussions aimed to promote consistency in laboratory management and strengthen compliance with established quality standards.

The program concluded with the closing remarks of 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗖. 𝗧𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗴𝗮, 𝘐𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘛𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺 𝘋𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘪𝘳𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯, who underscored the importance of shared responsibility and sustained commitment to quality assurance and continuous institutional improvement.

Through this initiative, CvSU Naic reaffirms its commitment to operational efficiency, accountability, and quality excellence by strengthening laboratory management practices and ensuring that appropriate procedures and documentation support effective teaching and learning. The activity further reinforces the university’s pursuit of continuous improvement and sustained adherence to its Quality Management System.

𝗖𝘃𝗦𝗨 𝗡𝗮𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗕𝗜𝗗𝗕𝗜𝗗 𝟮.𝟬 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴

Cavite State University Naic, through its Management Department, successfully conducted BIDBID 2.0: Reinventing a Coastal Classic – Product Development Training II on October 23, 2026, at Barangay Labac, Naic, Cavite, as part of the continuing implementation of the SEASIDE SUCCESS Extension Program. The initiative aimed to equip community members with practical knowledge and skills in local food product development, promoting inclusive learning, community empowerment, and potential sustainable livelihood opportunities.

The activity commenced with an overview of the SEASIDE SUCCESS Extension Program and a recap of Product Development Training I, led by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗔𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮-𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗼𝘀, 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘳, who emphasized the program’s objectives and commitment to community empowerment through knowledge sharing and skills development. An inspirational message was delivered by 𝗠𝗿. 𝗘𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗼, 𝘔𝘋 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘪𝘳𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯, highlighting the importance of collaboration, innovation, and community participation in creating meaningful livelihood opportunities.

A key component of the training was the lecture on 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙞𝙯𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙁𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙎𝙖𝙛𝙚𝙩𝙮, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙌𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙡 𝙞𝙣 𝘿𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘽𝙞𝙙𝙗𝙞𝙙 𝙎𝙞𝙤𝙥𝙖𝙤, facilitated by 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗹𝘆𝗻 𝗟. 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗿𝗼. The session provided participants with essential knowledge on maintaining product consistency, ensuring food safety, and improving product quality. This was followed by a hands-on workshop on the 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙁𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝘽𝙞𝙙𝙗𝙞𝙙 𝙎𝙞𝙤𝙥𝙖𝙤, facilitated by 𝗠𝘀. 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗮 and 𝗠𝘀. 𝗟𝘂𝘄𝘆 𝗡𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼, where participants applied the concepts and techniques discussed during the lecture.

The training brought together learners and community members from the Alternative Learning System (ALS), including out-of-school children and youth, working adults, senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and homemakers. By providing accessible and relevant learning opportunities to individuals from diverse backgrounds, CvSU Naic strengthened its community partnership and supported the development of practical skills that may be translated into entrepreneurial ventures and livelihood initiatives.

Through BIDBID 2.0, CvSU Naic continues to demonstrate its commitment to extension services that connect local culinary traditions with innovation and community development. The initiative underscores the university’s role in fostering lifelong learning, inclusive participation, and sustainable livelihood opportunities while contributing to the empowerment and well-being of the Barangay Labac community.

Cavite State University Naic successfully held its Sportsfest and Socio-Cultural Activity 2026 on October 20–22, 2026, bringing together students from different departments in a vibrant celebration of athletic excellence, camaraderie, creativity, and cultural pride. Anchored on the theme, “𝙂𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙕 𝙍𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜: 𝙁𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮, 𝙀𝙭𝙘𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘾𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙋𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙎𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙤-𝘾𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝘼𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨,” the three-day event provided students with opportunities to showcase their skills, talents, teamwork, sportsmanship, and artistic abilities beyond the classroom. The activity was spearheaded by 𝗠𝗿. 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼 𝗦. 𝗧𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗼 𝗝𝗿., 𝘚𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘴 𝘊𝘰𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳, and 𝗠𝗿. 𝗟𝗲𝗼 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁𝘂𝘀 𝗕. 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗼𝗯, 𝘚𝘰𝘤𝘪𝘰-𝘊𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘭 𝘊𝘰𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳, whose leadership helped facilitate the successful conduct of the celebration.

The celebration commenced with a lively parade featuring the vibrant colors and spirited delegations of the participating departments. This was followed by the opening remarks of 𝘊𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘶𝘴 𝘈𝘥𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗔𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗕. 𝗣𝘂𝗴𝗮𝘆, who welcomed the participants and set the tone for the event. 𝗠𝗿. 𝗦𝗶𝗱 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝘇, 𝘍𝘐𝘛𝘛 𝘐𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳, introduced the guest speaker, 𝘊𝘷𝘚𝘜 𝘚𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘴 𝘋𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗮, who emphasized the importance of camaraderie and sportsmanship in achieving excellence and fostering unity among students.

One of the highlights of the celebration was the Presentation and Selection of 𝗠𝗿. 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝘀. 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, where candidates demonstrated not only elegance and grace but also confidence, talent, and sportsmanship. 𝗠𝗿. 𝗘𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗲𝗹 𝗖. 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗼𝘀 𝗝𝗿. of 𝗕𝗦𝗕𝗔 was crowned 𝗠𝗿. 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, while 𝗠𝘀. 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮 𝗔𝗻𝗻 𝗖. 𝗠𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘆 of 𝗕𝗦𝗜𝗧 earned the title of 𝗠𝘀. 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, embodying the spirit and values of the celebration.

After three days of intense competition, determination, and remarkable displays of athletic prowess, the 𝗜𝗧𝗗 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗮𝗻𝘀 successfully defended their title as 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻, securing 𝟰𝟴 𝗴𝗼𝗹𝗱, 𝟯𝟰 𝘀𝗶𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗿, and 𝟮𝟰 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘇𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗹𝘀. The 𝗠𝗗 𝗧𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀 claimed second place with 41 gold, 19 silver, and 43 bronze medals, followed by the 𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗙𝗮𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀 in third place with 24 gold, 16 silver, and 11 bronze medals. Meanwhile, the 𝗙𝗔𝗦𝗗 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗸𝘀 demonstrated perseverance and unwavering determination throughout the competition, earning 5 gold, 38 silver, and 13 bronze medals.

Beyond the medals and accolades, the Sportsfest and Socio-Cultural Activity 2026 served as a meaningful avenue for students to discover their potential, strengthen friendships, develop leadership and teamwork, and momentarily step away from academic pressures. More importantly, the event reinforced the value of respect, discipline, inclusivity, and unity amid healthy competition.

As the festivities concluded, the CvSU Naic community celebrated not only the victories of the winning teams but also the collective efforts, talents, and sportsmanship of every participant. The event stood as a testament to the university's commitment to holistic student development, nurturing not only academic excellence but also well-rounded individuals who embody the spirit of unity, resilience, and cultural pride.

Cavite State University Naic celebrates a remarkable research achievement as 𝗗𝗿. 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘆 𝗝𝗮𝘆 𝗔. 𝗥𝗶𝗲𝗹 emerged as the 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱, 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀’ 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗼𝗿𝘆 during the 8th CALABARZON Research, Statistics, and Innovation Forum held on October 21, 2026, at the STEER Hub, Batangas State University–Alangilan Campus.

The forum was organized by the Regional Research, Development, and Innovation Committee (RRDIC) CALABARZON in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) CALABARZON.

The competition consisted of three phases: preliminary paper evaluation, online presentation of accepted papers, and the final face-to-face oral presentation for the top three entries. Dr. Riel’s achievement highlights CvSU Naic’s continuing commitment to research excellence, innovation, and the generation of knowledge that contributes to sustainable development.

Cavite State University (CvSU), with the active involvement of CvSU Naic, co-organizes the Too Big To Ignore (TBTI) 3rd Philippine Small-Scale Fisheries National Symposium, advocating for the rights and welfare of small-scale fishers and the sustainability of their livelihoods.
