| SCJE CONTINUES TO EMPOWER MORE COMMUNITIES ACROSS BILIRAN, BILIRAN |

BiPSU – SCJE successfully continued the implementation of its extension project, “Empowering Local Peacekeepers and Community on Peacekeeping,” through a series of community extension activities conducted in different barangays of Biliran, Biliran. The project reached Brgy. Julita on April 30, Brgy. Villa Enage on May 5, Brgy. Sanggalang on May 12, and Brgy. Canila on May 13, 2026, further expanding its impact in strengthening grassroots peacekeeping and community empowerment.

The activities were actively participated in by Barangay Officials, Barangay Tanods, and community members, who were capacitated on significant topics concerning human rights protection, gender sensitivity, child protection, community safety, and peacekeeping initiatives. Through interactive discussions and seminar-workshops facilitated by the SCJE faculty, participants gained valuable knowledge on the Bill of Rights, SOGIE, Gender Equality, Safe Spaces Act, Anti-VAWC Law, and other relevant laws and community intervention mechanisms essential in maintaining peace and order within their respective barangays.

This continuous expansion of the project reflects SCJE’s unwavering commitment to extending quality service beyond the classroom and translating the University’s mission into meaningful community engagement. By reaching more barangays, SCJE continues to foster informed, empowered, and socially responsible communities committed to justice, inclusivity, and sustainable peace.

| ENSURING QUALITY EDUCATION THROUGH ACTIVE CLASS MONITORING |

In line with its commitment to academic excellence, the Dean of the School of Criminal Justice Education, Dr. Archie T. Ramirez, together with the Program Chairperson, Ms. Roselle G. Sabornido, conducted a class monitoring activity yesterday, April 27, 2026.

The activity aimed to ensure the delivery of quality teaching and learning engagements during face-to-face classes, focusing on effective instructional practices, student participation, and overall classroom management. Through this initiative, SCJE continues to uphold high standards in education and strengthen the academic experience of both faculty and students.

Class monitoring will continue next week, as the School is currently conducting the proposal hearing of 3rd Year Criminology students, scheduled from today until tomorrow. This reflects SCJE’s dedication not only to instructional excellence but also to supporting students’ academic milestones and research development.

With continuous evaluation and support, SCJE remains steadfast in fostering a dynamic and quality learning environment for future criminology professionals.

| EMPOWERING LOCAL PEACEKEEPERS AND COMMUNITY ON PEACEKEEPING: Second Barangay |

Continuing its strong commitment to responsive extension services and developing socially responsible citizens, BiPSU-SCJE successfully carried out the 2nd Extension Activity yesterday, April 23, 2026, at Brgy. Busali, Biliran, Biliran, marking the second barangay reached in this growing community initiative.

Building on the momentum of its first rollout, this second leg gathered Barangay Officials, Barangay Tanods, and community members for another engaging and impactful learning experience. The participants were capacitated on key legal and social protection topics including RA 9262 (Anti-VAWC Law), RA 7610, RA 9344, Safe Spaces and Cyber-Safety (RA 11313 / RA 10175), and referral and reporting mechanisms for effective community intervention.

This expansion to another barangay highlights SCJE’s sustained effort to widen its reach and deepen community impact, ensuring that more local peacekeepers are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to uphold justice, protect human rights, and promote peace at the grassroots level.

From one community to the next, SCJE continues to bring education beyond the classroom, empowering every barangay toward a safer and more inclusive society.

| SYMPOSIUM ON COMMUNITY-BASED CORRECTIONS |

BiPSU-SCJE successfully conducted a Symposium on Parole, Probation, and DOJ–Parole and Probation Administration (PPA) Programs yesterday, April 21, 2026, at the BiPSU Gymnasium.

With the theme of strengthening awareness on Community-Based Corrections, Reintegration Programs, and Allied Services, the activity served as an information drive for BS Criminology students, providing them with valuable insights directly from practitioners in the field.

This activity was organized by the BiPSU Criminology Interns as part of their internship requirements, showcasing their initiative in bridging academic learning with real-world application. It was also facilitated by the dedicated parole and probation officers of the Parole and Probation Administration – Biliran Provincial Office and Regional Office VIII, led by their esteemed heads, RD Ma. Beverly Ampo, RSW – Regional Director, and CPPA Jeanette Avorque – Chief Parole and Probation Officer, Biliran Province.

The highlight of the activity was the opportunity for students to learn firsthand about PPA services and operations through the lens of the officers themselves, deepening their understanding of correctional administration and community reintegration.

This initiative reinforces SCJE’s commitment to producing future criminologists who are not only knowledgeable but also responsive to the evolving demands of the criminal justice system.

| EMPOWERING COMMUNITIES THROUGH KNOWLEDGE AND PARTNERSHIP |

The BiPSU – School of Criminal Justice Education (SCJE) successfully conducted its first extension activity for this semester under the project “Empowering Local Peacekeepers and Community on Peacekeeping” on April 16, 2026, in Brgy. Pinangomhan, Biliran, Biliran. This meaningful initiative brought together Barangay Officials, Barangay Tanods, and community members in a collaborative effort to strengthen local peacekeeping and promote a more informed and empowered community.

Participants were actively engaged and capacitated on essential topics such as the Bill of Rights, SOGIE, Gender Equality, Safe Spaces Act, and the Anti-VAWC Law, equipping them with vital knowledge to uphold human rights, ensure inclusivity, and respond effectively to community concerns. The activity served as a platform for learning, awareness, and shared responsibility in maintaining peace and order at the grassroots level.

Through this extension program, SCJE continues to translate the University’s mission into action, extending knowledge, fostering community partnerships, and shaping empowered citizens committed to justice, equality, and sustainable peace.

| BUILDING COMPETENCIES IN INVESTIGATIVE REPORT WRITING |

The BiPSU – School of Criminal Justice Education (SCJE) successfully conducted its 2-Day Enhancement Activity in Technical English 1: Investigative Report Writing and Presentation to the 3rd Year BS Criminology students. This dynamic initiative highlights SCJE’s strong commitment to continuously enhancing its instructional strategies by seamlessly integrating theoretical knowledge with practical experience, ensuring that students are well-prepared for their future roles in law enforcement and related fields. Over two engaging days, students honed their skills in crafting clear, accurate, and professional investigative reports while building confidence in presenting their work—essential competencies in the field of criminal justice.

The activity was attended by 3-Alpha to 3-Charlie on the first day and 3-Delta to 3-Echo on the second day, reflecting the enthusiasm and active participation of our future criminologists. The School also extends its heartfelt appreciation to the personnel of the Naval Municipal Police Station, headed by PMaj Sherwin Amando L. Machete, for generously sharing their time, expertise, and valuable real-world insights with the students. Their contribution greatly enriched the learning experience and inspired our learners to strive for excellence and professionalism.

Through initiatives like this, SCJE continues to shape competent, articulate, and service-oriented graduates ready to uphold justice and public safety.

Driven by its strong commitment to academic excellence and the goal of achieving a 100% passing rate, the BiPSU – School of Criminal Justice Education successfully conducted an Intensive Enhancement Seminar for its 4th Year Criminology students as they gear up for graduation and the Licensure Examination for Criminologists.

This dynamic and purpose-driven initiative ignited students’ passion for learning by reinforcing their foundational knowledge, sharpening their analytical and critical thinking skills, and immersing them in the actual format and scope of the board examination. More than just a review, the seminar served as a powerful platform to bridge learning gaps, strengthen core competencies, and elevate students’ confidence as they take on one of the most significant milestones of their academic journey.

With determination, discipline, and the unwavering support of BiPSU-SCJE, these future Registered Criminologists are now one step closer to excellence and success in the field of criminal justice.

Testimonial Ceremony 2026: Celebrating 152 New Criminologists!

The Biliran Province State University – School of Criminal Justice Education (BiPSU-SCJE) proudly celebrates the successful conduct of the Testimonial Ceremony held yesterday, April 6, 2026, at the BiPSU Gymnasium, in honor of the 152 newly registered criminologists who passed the February 2026 Licensure Examination for Criminologists.

The event was graced by PLTCOL Shevert Alvin L. Machete, Officer-in-Charge of the Biliran Police Provincial Office, who served as the Guest of Honor and inspired the new criminologists to uphold professionalism and dedication in the field of law enforcement.

One of the highlights of the ceremony was the inspiring testimony of Regional Topnotcher Rank 2, Ms. Princess Samantha A. Figueroa (91.70%), who emphasized that consistency is the key to success, a powerful reminder to all aspiring criminologists.

Another proud moment was shared by Dr. Victor C. Cañezo, Jr., University President, who recognized Mr. John B. Paradas, a member of the Mamanwa tribe and a BiPSU scholar. In his message, the University President expressed his full support and commitment to assist Mr. Paradas in his journey toward employment, an inspiring testament to BiPSU’s dedication to inclusive and transformative education.

The ceremony was filled with pride, gratitude, and inspiration, featuring the presentation of passers, meaningful messages from distinguished speakers, inspiring testimonies, a keynote speech by FO1 Arve S. Capales (BFP Naval Station), and the solemn Pledge of Professionalism.

A symbolic Charging Ceremony (Passing of the Torch) highlighted the responsibility of the newly registered criminologists to carry forward the values of service, commitment, and justice. The program concluded with the singing of the BiPSU SCJE Hymn, closing remarks, and a celebratory photo session.
