𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗡𝗦𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗦: 𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗔𝗙𝗘, 𝗜𝗡𝗖𝗟𝗨𝗦𝗜𝗩𝗘, 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗡𝗦𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗖𝗔𝗠𝗣𝗨𝗦𝗘𝗦

The participation of the Student Affairs and Services Unit (SASU) in the One-Day Seminar Forum entitled “RESPONSIVE MINDS: Creating Safe, Inclusive, and Responsive Campuses – Reorientation on the Safe Spaces Act and Psychological First Aid for Higher Education Institutions” provided an opportunity to strengthen knowledge, skills, and practices in promoting safe, inclusive, and supportive campus environments.

The forum highlighted key matters concerning the Safe Spaces Act, case reporting and referral mechanisms, relevant legal frameworks for student disciplinary cases, Psychological First Aid, and Basic Guidance Counseling, providing valuable insights in effectively responding to student concerns and supporting their overall well-being.

Representing the Student Affairs and Services Unit were Christin Jade Gadogdog, Student Affairs and Services Unit Head; Rolando Bayo Jr., Student Discipline Coordinator; Jonik A. Hitio, Student Council and Organization Section Coordinator; Stephane G. Delos Reyes, Guidance and Counseling Section Coordinator; and Vivilyn V. Porlares, Appraisal and Testing Section Coordinator.

Through continuous capacity-building and professional development, the SASU remains committed to strengthening its programs and services and fostering a campus environment where every student feels safe, supported, heard, and empowered to thrive.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | DDOSC–New Bataan to Hold Acquaintance Party on August 27

An evening of connection, celebration, and new memories awaits the students of Davao de Oro State College – New Bataan Branch as the college is set to hold its Acquaintance Party on August 27, 2026.

Carrying the theme “Meet, Connect, Celebrate: Building Friendships, Strengthening Bonds, Creating Lasting Memories,” the event will provide students with an opportunity to step beyond the classroom, meet new people, strengthen friendships, and celebrate the growing DDOSC community.

Adding to the evening's atmosphere is the event's Streetwear-themed attire, giving students the opportunity to express their individual style while taking part in the celebration.

Students are reminded that Streetwear attire is required for the event. No Streetwear, No Attendance. All attendees are expected to follow the prescribed dress code as part of the event's guidelines.

As students gather for an evening of interaction and celebration, the Acquaintance Party aims to create an environment where new connections can begin, friendships can grow, and memorable moments can be shared.

The SASU held its Monthly Regular Meeting, focusing on key updates, plans, and upcoming priorities to ensure the continued delivery of quality services to our students.

The meeting highlights key matters concerning upcoming student activities, office plans and updates, AACUP Level III, and the 2nd Internal Audit, providing a platform for discussion, monitoring, and preparation for the continuous improvement of our programs and services.

Through regular coordination and collaborative planning, the office continues to strengthen its programs, services, and commitment to student development.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | DDOSC–New Bataan, Isasagawa ang Pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika 2026

Nakikiisa ang Davao de Oro State College – New Bataan Branch sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika 2026 na gaganapin sa Agosto 27, 2026, sa umaga, tampok ang temang:“Panulat na Nagmulat, Wika na Nagbuklod: Pagpupugay sa Panitikang Filipino, Pagpapatuloy sa Kabataan.”

Layunin ng pagdiriwang na bigyang-pansin ang mahalagang papel ng wika at panitikan sa paghubog ng kamalayan, pagkakakilanlan, at pagkakaisa ng mga Pilipino. Tampok sa programa ang mga gawaing magbibigay-daan sa mga mag-aaral na maipamalas ang kanilang kaalaman, pagkamalikhain, at pagpapahalaga sa wikang Filipino.

Bibigyang-diin din sa pagdiriwang ang papel ng kabataan bilang tagapagpatuloy ng panitikang Filipino. Sa pamamagitan ng panulat at wika, inaasahang higit na mapalalalim ang pag-unawa ng mga mag-aaral sa kulturang kanilang kinabibilangan at sa kahalagahan ng pagpapanatili nito sa kasalukuyang panahon.

Ang nasabing programa ay bahagi ng mga gawaing pangmag-aaral ng institusyon na naglalayong itaguyod ang kamalayang pangkultura, pakikilahok, at pagpapahalaga sa sariling wika at panitikan.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | DDOSC–New Bataan Sets Club Day and Freshmen Day on August 26

Davao de Oro State College – New Bataan Branch is set to hold a day of student-centered activities on August 26, 2026, featuring Club Day in the morning and Freshmen Day in the afternoon.

Club Day will carry the theme, “Passion That Connect, Talents That Inspire: Discovering Interests, Building Communities, Empowering Students,” highlighting the different student organizations and providing students with opportunities to discover their interests, showcase their talents, and connect with communities within the college.

Meanwhile, Freshmen Day will take place in the afternoon under the theme, “A New Chapter, A New Journey: Embracing Beginnings, Building Dreams, Shaping Futures.” The event will welcome first-year students through various activities designed to foster camaraderie, encourage participation, and help them begin their journey as members of the DDOSC community.

The day's activities are set to bring students together through interactive engagements, organization showcases, games, performances, team-building activities, and other student-centered programs prepared for both celebrations.

With Club Day opening doors to new interests and communities and Freshmen Day marking the beginning of a new academic journey, August 26 promises a day of connection, participation, and new experiences for the DDOSC–New Bataan community.

The General Orientation for the First Semester of Academic Year 2026–2027 provides an opportunity to strengthen awareness and understanding of the essential services and support available to our students.

First Semester A.Y. 2026-2027 General Student Orientation

[𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦] 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐭𝐬 𝐃𝐝𝐎𝐒𝐂–𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐚𝐧 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

A power interruption cut short the online General Orientation of Davao de Oro State College (DdOSC)–New Bataan Branch on August 14, 2026, prompting the Student Affairs and Services (SAS) Section to move the remaining sessions to Monday, August 17, and raising potential scheduling concerns if face-to-face classes resume on the same day.

Led by the SAS Section, the half-day orientation was conducted virtually as the suspension of face-to-face classes in New Bataan remained in effect due to extreme heat conditions in the municipality.

The online setup allowed students to participate in the orientation despite being unable to gather on campus. The activity covered institutional policies and guidelines, student responsibilities, services, and other information relevant to their academic life at DdOSC–New Bataan.

However, the activity was interrupted by a power outage while the Multi-Faith Orientation was being conducted, leaving the remaining parts of the program unfinished.

The SAS Section subsequently announced that the General Orientation will continue on Monday, August 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon via Zoom.

The rescheduling could pose another challenge if the local government lifts the suspension of face-to-face classes before Monday. With the continuation occupying the morning schedule, regular classes and the orientation could overlap, raising concerns over how instructors and students would accommodate both activities.

The situation illustrates the broader impact of power interruptions on education and workplace operations. Beyond temporarily cutting electricity and internet-dependent activities, an outage can displace scheduled programs and create subsequent adjustments even after power service has been restored.

For DdOSC–New Bataan, the interruption came at a time when online platforms had already become necessary to sustain activities amid the heat-related suspension of face-to-face classes. What initially served as an alternative to an environmental disruption was itself affected by another essential-service interruption.
