The word cosplay (short for “costume play”) was first coined in Japan in the 1980s, but the practice of dressing up as beloved characters goes way back to early sci-fi conventions in the 1930s! Since then, it has grown into a global celebration of creativity, fandom, and community.

𝙍𝙚𝙙 𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩, 𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩! ⭕❌

Lasallians stopped by, looked around, and many took the leap to enlist in Cosplay Corps during Pasimula 2025. Students flocked to the booth, with many showing excitement to enlist and join the community. Lasallians enjoyed fun activities, including Squid Game inspired mini-games, while being greeted by cosplayers from different fandoms.

Highlights included the Saja Boys from K-pop Demon Hunters, Jujutsu Kaisen and the appearance of CSO Chan, the official mascot of the Council of Student Organizations, who brought extra energy and fun to the event.

𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗽𝘀! 🎉

Last August 20, 2025, Cosplay Corps conducted its first orientation for the school year at La Salle University Ozamiz, marking an exciting beginning for both new and returning members.

The program highlighted important guidelines, introduced the newly appointed set of officers, and presented upcoming projects and organization activities. Members also learned about partnerships with external organizations, expanding opportunities for collaboration and connection beyond the group.

The orientation was not only informative but also engaging, as everyone had the chance to mingle, exchange ideas, and build camaraderie through interactive games. With a new academic year ahead, the organization looks forward to a year filled with learning, meaningful experiences, and making new memories together. 💫
