MANILA, Philippines – Vice-President Jejomar Binay remains the most trusted official in the Aquino administration, the latest Pulse Asia survey revealed Wednesday.
The survey conducted last May 20-26 showed Binay getting 81% approval rating from respondents, with only 4% expressing disapproval and 15% undecided.
The survey also showed 78% of Filipinos saying they trust Binay, compared to 18% undecided and 4% with little to no trust on the vice-president.
Prof. Ronnie Holmes, president of Pulse Asia, said the trust and performance ratings of the country’s top 5 officials were little changed since the last survey in March.
In an interview with ANC's Dateline Philippines, he attributed Binay’s high trust and approval ratings to the vice-president’s own performance.
“People I think will see that he is performing his functions, the functions assigned to him by the President. If I am not mistaken, at present the Vice-President is the chair of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council and has also been assigned to handle cases involving OFWs,” he told ANC’s Dateline Philippines.
