As the Philippines assumes the 2026 ASEAN Chairmanship, Davao Region is taking the lead in navigating the future of regional integration and academic diplomacy!

The Marine Biological Society made a splash at the latest “𝐋𝐞𝐭’𝐬 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐭" webinar series! 🐚

We had the incredible opportunity to learn from 𝐃𝐫. 𝐅𝐢𝐤𝐫𝐢 𝐀𝐤𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐊𝐡𝐨𝐝𝐳𝐨𝐫𝐢 (Universiti Malaysia Sabah), who shared his expertise on "Reef to Community" strategies. For us as aspiring marine biologists, it was eye-opening to see how research in Malaysia is being used to empower coastal communities and protect vital reef ecosystems.

Engaging in these global discussions helps us prepare for our own roles as future stewards of the Davao Gulf and beyond. We’re not just studying the sea—we’re learning how to save it! 🐟🌏

[INTERNATIONALIZATION] The Social Work faculty, through the Office of Internationalization and External Affairs, recently met with representatives from the 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮 - 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 to explore opportunities for virtual collaboration and global learning exchange.

The discussion highlighted potential initiatives such as joint course activities, cross-lectures between faculty, and student engagement opportunities that allow learners to interact, exchange perspectives, and co-create knowledge across cultures—without leaving their home institutions. These collaborative sessions will also provide a platform to share social work practices in both countries, enriching learning through diverse global insights.

Through these initiatives, students will gain meaningful global exposure, develop intercultural competence, and deepen their understanding of social work practice across diverse contexts.

Strengthening its commitment to international academic collaboration, Dr. Mark Van M. Buladaco, Dean of the Institute of Computing of Davao del Norte State College, successfully completed his engagement as a guest lecturer at Universitas Trilogi, Indonesia.

Dr. Buladaco was formally invited by the Faculty of Science, Engineering, and Design to deliver a lecture for the Mixed Reality Practicum course, focusing on the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) instrument for interface evaluation. The session was conducted online via Zoom on April 24, 2026, bringing together students in an international learning environment.

The speakership was successfully conducted, providing participants with valuable insights into user experience evaluation and interface design. Dr. Buladaco’s expertise significantly contributed to enhancing the students’ understanding of emerging technologies and practical assessment tools in computing.

This engagement highlights DNSC’s growing presence in global academic networks and its continuous efforts to promote knowledge exchange, research collaboration, and internationalization. It also underscores the College’s dedication to sharing expertise beyond borders and fostering cross-cultural academic partnerships.

Asia Technological University Network (ATU-Net) is pleased to announce that Universitas Brawijaya (UB), Indonesia in collaboration with Davao del Sur State College, The Philippines will be hosting the ATU-Net International Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Computing, Engineering and Science Education (InvENT) 2026.
