𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐕𝐈𝐂𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐑𝐔𝐓𝐇 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐐𝐔𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐀𝐋𝐋!

As journalists, we do not serve power. We serve the people, and the people deserve the truth.

In a world where narratives are shaped by the influential, journalism remains a commitment to those whose stories often go unheard. It is the responsibility to question, to listen, and to tell stories as they are, not as they are convenient.

Throughout this term, we have witnessed change. Some members have concluded their journeys, while others have stepped forward to continue the mission. Yet despite these transitions, our purpose remains the same: to pursue the truth with courage, integrity, and compassion.

For 78 years, AU The Standard has stood as a platform for voices that matter. Through every article written, photograph captured, artwork created, and broadcast delivered, we continue to uphold the people's right to factual and meaningful information.

Because journalism is not about authority—it is about accountability, not about comfort but about truth.

As our term is ending, we proudly present the 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 of 𝗔𝗨 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱 – 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗔𝗯𝗮𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗼𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 2025–2026 !

𝗢𝗣𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗢𝗡 | 𝗔𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝗴𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗮𝗻: 𝗧𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗡𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻

Organized by the COMELEC, the 2026 Leadership Conference brought together the interested presidents of each organization and club for a moment of reflection—marking not just the end of their term but also the culmination of a year defined by leadership in action.

As the academic year comes to a close, this feature highlights their voices through a series of interviews. Each president looks back on the moments that defined their leadership—from the most memorable initiatives they led, to the struggles they faced behind the scenes, and the values that shaped their decisions.

These reflections offer a deeper look into the realities of student leadership—where vision meets responsibility, and service demands both strength and heart.

In the past centuries, female intuition has been seen as something unnatural. Most even call it witchcraft, with minor examples like predicting the weather. Lacking knowledge and research, women's intuition was not only foreseen as divination but also as curses bound to Western folklore and fairy tales.

As the National Women’s Month takes along the calendar, may the voice of women—or lack thereof—be the next step to another discovery of the female body.

While different civilizations progressed up until the modern age, science has developed multiple studies regarding this case. That includes what we call Neuroscience: the study of the nervous system and its functions. Gut feelings may sound objective, though several articles and research papers have been written regarding feminine intuition that fall under scientific terms.

Two major explanations for this theorem are hormonal balances and influence. Estrogen has been proven to heighten the brain areas responsible for emotional, memory, and natural instinct in the amygdala, a mass of gray matter in each cerebral hemisphere. This causes women to turn on “survival mode” and aim to predict several situations to cope with.

Most of these said natural instincts derive from maternal tendencies.

“Like the woman whose mother’s intuition kicks in, dragging her kid to the ER and catching an infection in time,” says Sonia Choquette, the author of Trust Your Vibes and trainer of the Sixth Sense Superpower Program.

These biological factors that come from roles form unconscious methods of processing, allowing reasoning without proper evidence.

A woman’s corpus callosum, a thick tissue that connects the left and right brain hemispheres, is thicker than a man’s. Many scientists believe that the right brain functions for every premonition that occurs within humans, as the corpus callosum helps those thoughts travel to the other side.

And so, bringing back the times when women were treated as outcasts and accused, many present-time analyses remind us that science still lurks in the deep, unexpected areas of subjectivity.
