June 12, 2026 is the 118th Birth Anniversary of Doña Victoria Ty-Tan.
Born in Nan An, Fujian, China on June 12, 1908, Doña Tytana, fondly called Amah by family and friends, embodied the values of hard work, integrity, humility, and service—principles that became the foundation upon which generations of the Ty family were raised.
A woman of vision and strength, Doña Tytana believed in the transformative power of education, family, and service to others. As a devoted wife, mother, and community leader, she played a vital role in nurturing a family whose commitment to excellence and social responsibility would leave a lasting impact on countless lives.
Her guidance and unwavering support helped shape the vision of her son, Dr. George S. K. Ty, founder of Metrobank, who named Manila Tytana Colleges in her honor as a tribute to her enduring influence and to the Filipino value of reverence for motherhood. Her legacy lives on through the institution that bears her name and through every Titan who strives to lead with character and purpose.
As we celebrate her life and contributions, may her example continue to inspire us to pursue excellence and be instruments of positive change in service to our communities.
