BIYAYA WALK I Joseph Manuelle Callelero expresses his experiences and thoughts on the BIYAYA Walk about the importance of advocating sustainable living to the younger generation.
"As a proud Nationalian, I would advocate for sustainable living by using the runway to bridge our rich history with our ecological future. The garment I wear honors traditional Filipino craftsmanship, proving that culture and conservation go hand in hand. By choosing eco-friendly, locally sourced textiles, I want to show the youth that honoring our past means protecting the environment they would inherit."
NU MOA Couture Collective struts at the BIYAYA Sustainable Living Festival 2026, handcrafted and designed by the Cordillera Designers, last July 17-19, 2026, SM Megamall Megatrade Halls 1-3.
The BIYAYA Walk showcases the designs and crafts of 9 designers from the Cordillera region, presented by 37 students from NU MOA. The weaves embodied the Filipino resiliency, culture, and heritage.
NU MOA is proud to be part of this meaningful initiative through the Academe Industry Linkage & Placement Office (AILPO) and the NU MOA Couture Collective.
