On March 13, 2026, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), in the Main Building Room 212, hosted the Miting de Avance 2026, a political campaign program that tests the platforms of the running candidates and party-lists for the next student council leaders, for the next academic year at Arellano University - Jose Abad Santos Campus.
At exactly 1:47pm, the hosts, Ms. Iyana B. Montarde and Mr. Daniel B. Valdez, commenced the program, followed by a prayer and the singing of the National Anthem and the AU Hymn. Afterwards, the former Senate President and current COMELEC Chairperson, Ms. Jaymie Le Sabino, delivered a speech on the electoral program. Then, the hosts acknowledged the panelists for Miting de Avance: the Academic Coordinator and Assistant to the Principal, Ms. Ana Maria O. Rosarda; the Parliamentarian Adviser, Sir Noel Delos Triรฑos; and the COMELEC chairperson, Ms. Jaymie Le Sabino.
Then, the Supreme Student Council (SSC) President of the College Division, Mr. Zakhary Simangan, was called to give an opening speech which highlighted the achievements of the current council and the importance of youth leadership. He was later awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for his speech, his service in the council, his leadership, and his advocacies that changed the landscape of the Arellano Universityโs Supreme Student Council.
By 2:22pm, each party-list from different divisions was given a length of time to introduce each member, to promote their platforms, and to answer questions from the panelists and audience. First, from the Junior High School Division, the Kakaibabe Party-listโthe aspirant leaders in blue: Kchaej P. Punsalan (Running for Vice President), Yuri L. Alarcos (Running for Treasurer), Princess Ivy R. Manto (Running for Auditor), Raquel M. Pernicol (Running for P.R.O), and Brianna Louise A. Pascual (Running for Business Manager). Their advocacies include respect-based discipline, financial transparency, and leadership. Their platforms include Budget-For-Every-Event, Serbisyong-May-Resibo, and Student-Voice-Up.
Second, from the Junior High School Division, the Samsara Party-listโthe experienced leaders in red: Kristine Tyra V. Castillo (Running for President), Shan Chloe O. Maguigad (Running for Secretary), Afiyah Xianna David (Running for Auditor), Ivreah C. Garciso (Running for P.R.O), John Michael G. Dagpin (Running for Treasurer), and Kasheca Zhyrene Franchezka I. Rabang (Running for Business Manager). Their advocacies include digitalized action, PWD inclusivity, equity, and progressive leadership. Their platforms include SPED-tacular Respect and Insights, and AU-thentic and AU-some Perspectives.
Third, from the Senior High School Division, the Tanglaw Partylistโthe advocates in yellow: Allyza Monique C. Apolinario (Running for President), Jian Rhom A. Mendoza (Running for Vice President), Chloe Crizelle S. Rodriguez (Running for Secretary), Valkyrie Franchei B. Yedra (Treasurer), Giddalti Grail A. Brown (Running for Auditor), Ma. Nichole P. Obungen (Running for P.R.O), and Miko Rafael D. Mantala (Running for Business Manager). Their advocacies include student empowerment, efficient organization, financial transparency and accountability, audit with integrity, anti-fake news, and smart-funds-real-impact. Their platforms include AU-lertong Chiefs, AU Pride Day, and AU-ral Session.
Fourth, from the Senior High School Division, the Kaulayaw Party-listโthe safekeeping leaders in blue: Sheena Mae M. Rama (Running for Treasurer), Jhayian Miel C. Caingles (Running for P.R.O), and Alexa Nicole Solis (Running for Business Manager). Their advocacies are connection, student spirit, and financial responsibility and transparency. Their platforms include Suporta sa Student Entrepreneurs and Smart-Money-Move.
Fifth, from the College Division, the Tanglaw Party-listโthe bright leaders in yellow: Ciara Sandara Jane Bautista (Running for President), Cris Simon Ramos (Running for Vice President), Princess Jeff Domingo (Running for Secretary), Feona Jane Pollarca (Running for Treasurer), Alkine Punio (Running for Auditor), Lynnete Adolfo (Running for P.I.O), and Justin Adrien Mora (Running for Business Manager). Their advocacies include press freedom, mental health awareness, womenโs safety, PWD inclusivity, and gender equity. Some of their platforms include A.N.I (Access to New Investitures), Campus Journalism Act, Pet-friendly Campus, LGBTQIA+ and SOGIE Awareness, and Self-defense Workshop for Women.
Lastly, from the College Division, the Hiraya Party-listโthe fierce leaders in red: Sam Christian M. Paghubasan (Running for President), Lianne Bautista (Running for Vice President), Abegail Claire Agnes (Running for Secretary), Hannah Gwyneth Raquel (Running for Treasurer), Ramly De Sena (Running for Auditor), Clifford Hermo (Running for P.I.O), and Euricho Lykka Limpin (Running for Business Manager). A few of their advocacies are SOGIE and women empowerment, health and wellness, and financial literacy. Some of their platforms are AI & Ethics, Student Treasury Network, Mental Health ROI (Return on Investment), and Eco-warriors: Gawa, Hindi Salita.
By 4:54pm, the floor was opened for a question & answer portion with five students from the audience to select specific divisions or party-lists to inquire. After the Q&A session, all party-lists were recognized with certificates of participation for attending the Miting de Avance 2026. Then, the Vice President of the Parliamentarians, Mr. Daniel B. Valdez, delivered a closing speech which emphasized the importance of participation and cooperation in a democracy. At exactly 5:27pm, on behalf of the Commission on Elections, the hosts expressed their gratitude to the attendees and the program was brought to a close.
