Three exceptional student delegates from SJDEFI College, 𝐀𝐦𝐢𝐞𝐥 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧 (𝐁𝐒𝐇𝐌), 𝐉𝐨𝐲 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐨 (𝐁𝐒𝐌𝐓), 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐞𝐢𝐫𝐚 𝐂𝐫𝐮𝐳 (𝐁𝐒𝐍), proudly represented the institution at the 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐂𝐀𝐔𝐒𝐄) 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩, a Yakap ng Kabataang Pinoy Experiential Service Learning Program centered on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.

Held from 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟒 𝐭𝐨 𝟐𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, 𝐚𝐭 𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐳𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐆𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐝𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐦 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐨 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲, the camp brought together student leaders from across the country to strengthen leadership, deepen advocacy, and inspire community engagement through immersive and purpose driven activities.

Guided by the Director of Student Development and Well being, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐉𝐚𝐲𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐂. 𝐉𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐫, 𝐏𝐓𝐑𝐏, 𝐌𝐀.𝐄𝐝., the delegation actively participated and excelled in various competitions and initiatives that highlighted creativity, environmental awareness, and teamwork.

𝐀𝐦𝐢𝐞𝐥 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧 showcased innovation in sustainability, earning 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 in Creative Recycling and 𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 in the Yelling Competition.

𝐉𝐨𝐲 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐨 demonstrated digital creativity and advocacy, emerging as the 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫 in Eco Reels and securing 𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 in the Yelling Competition.

𝐋𝐞𝐢𝐫𝐚 𝐂𝐫𝐮𝐳 stood out remarkably, being awarded as 𝐌𝐬. 𝐏𝐇𝐈𝐋𝐂𝐀𝐔𝐒𝐄 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, and her team as 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧 in the Yelling Competition. She has also been recognized as a 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧, reflecting her strong leadership and commitment to advocacy.

In addition, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐉𝐚𝐲𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐂. 𝐉𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐫 was officially appointed as the 𝐏𝐇𝐈𝐋𝐂𝐀𝐔𝐒𝐄 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧, marking a significant milestone in advancing student empowerment and leadership development within the region.

Through this enriching experience, the delegates from SJDEFI College not only brought pride to their institution but also strengthened their roles as advocates for sustainable development, embodying the values of service, leadership, and environmental stewardship.

Condolence Statement from the Students and Employees of SJDEFI – College

We, the employees and students of San Juan de Dios Educational Foundation, Inc. – College, are deeply saddened by the passing of Sr. Manileña “Sr. Ming” A. Libo-on, DC. Her loss leaves a profound emptiness in our hearts, for she was not only a servant sister but also a guiding light who dedicated her life to Christ and to the service of others with unfailing love, humility, and compassion.

Sr. Ming’s tireless dedication as a spiritual leader and steward of the health ministry shaped countless lives, including ours. She embodied the true Vincentian spirit, living each day with faith and selfless service. We grieved the departure of someone whose wisdom, vision, and kindness will forever remain part of the foundation of our community. Her memory challenges us to carry forward her mission of hope, healing, and service to those in need.

In this time of great sorrow, we unite in prayer with the Daughters of Charity, her family, friends, and all who mourn her passing. With deep respect and gratitude, we commend her soul to God’s eternal embrace. May perpetual light shine upon her, and may her life’s legacy continue to inspire generations of SJDCians to live with faith, compassion, and integrity.
