Today at exactly 7:37 AM, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck 13 kilometers southwest off the coast of General Santos City, according to PHIVOLCS. The earthquake was felt across several parts of Mindanao and nearby provinces.

The earthquake reminded us that life can change in seconds. We may not control when the ground shakes, but we can control how prepared we are.

𝐃𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐞 is not just another fever — it’s a serious, life-threatening disease that affects thousands of Filipinos every year, especially during the rainy season. The 𝐀𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐞𝐠𝐲𝐩𝐭𝐢 mosquito only needs a small amount of stagnant water to breed, and one bite from an infected mosquito can put anyone at risk of severe dengue. That’s why 𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐞 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 is important. When we know how dengue spreads and how to prevent it, we protect not just ourselves, but also our families, classmates, and neighbors. Prevention is still the most powerful tool we have, because early action stops the virus before it starts.

‎This is why 𝐑𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 fully support Brigada Eskwela and the 𝑫𝑶𝑯’𝒔 4 𝑶’𝑪𝒍𝒐𝒄𝒌 𝑯𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒕 𝒐𝒓 𝑨𝒍𝒂𝒔-𝑲𝒘𝒂𝒕𝒓𝒐 𝑲𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒂 𝑴𝒐𝒔𝒒𝒖𝒊𝒕𝒐 campaign. Every day at 4 PM, we remind everyone to follow the 4T’s: 𝐓𝐚𝐨𝐛 to overturn containers, 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐭𝐚𝐤 to shake water off plants and objects, 𝐓𝐮𝐲𝐨 to dry surfaces where water collects, and 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐩 to cover water storage drums tightly. These 4 simple actions eliminate breeding sites and break the dengue transmission cycle right in our own homes and classrooms.

TAKEPAN HIGH SCHOOL WRAPS UP ARAL SUMMER REMEDIATION

Takepan High School concluded its 4-week ARAL Summer Remediation Program from May 6 to June 2, 2026, through a culmination ceremony held on June 2, 2026.

With the theme “Together, We Celebrate Learning, Dedication, and Achievement!”, the program recognized learner progress through the awarding of medals and certificates.

Vienna E. Miniano delivered the inspirational message, while Norshamin Lampukan gave the appreciation message. Certificates were also presented to tutors who facilitated the daily tutorial sessions.

The event ended with the distribution of school supplies and a photo opportunity for learners, tutors, and school personnel.

The ARAL Program aimed to strengthen learners’ foundational skills in reading and numeracy through focused, learner-centered interventions during the summer period.
