Alpha Kappa Rho – Polanco Municipal Council Official Statement

The Alpha Kappa Rho Polanco Municipal Council solemnly gathered to honor the life of our beloved brother, Ronie “Itom” Suminggit.

Last night, the Council and fellow members held a vigil and funeral service, offering prayers and support to the family and community as we remembered his legacy of brotherhood and commitment.

Today, we continue our tribute with the funeral mass service, standing united in faith and fraternity as we bid our final farewell.

Brother Ronie “Itom” Suminggit will always be remembered with respect, love, and gratitude. His memory will remain a guiding light for all Skeptrons in Polanco and beyond.

Rest in peace, our dear brother.

On January 18, 2026, the Sinulog Festival was joyfully celebrated in the Municipality of Polanco, Zamboanga del Norte. The festival, rooted in tradition and faith, was marked by vibrant activities, colorful performances, and the enthusiastic participation of various groups and organizations from across the community. It was a day filled with music, dance, and cultural expression, showcasing the unity and spirit of the people of Polanco.

Among the many highlights of the celebration, one activity stood out for its humanitarian impact. The Alpha Kappa Rho International Humanitarian Service Fraternity and Sorority, Polanco Municipal Council, organized a feeding program as part of their service to the community. This initiative was designed to provide nourishment and comfort to festival participants and visitors, many of whom had spent long hours engaging in the festivities.

The program reflected the fraternity and sorority’s commitment to humanitarian service, extending care and support beyond the celebration itself. By offering food and refreshments, the Brotherhood not only addressed the physical needs of attendees but also embodied the values of compassion, solidarity, and service to others. Today, the Alpha Kappa Rho International Humanitarian Service Fraternity and Sorority, Inc. – Polanco Municipal Council successfully convened its first emergency meeting for the year, marking a significant step in strengthening its organizational presence and community service initiatives.

The meeting was presided over by the Municipal Council Grand Skeptron, GS Insoy, together with the council officers, PGS Pagente and representatives from various GS Chapters.

This gathering highlighted the council’s dedication to proactive leadership and collaborative action, ensuring that Alpha Kappa Rho in Polanco remains steadfast in its role as a partner in local development. By fostering solidarity and accountability, the council reaffirmed its commitment to uphold the fraternity’s guiding principles of service, loyalty, and brotherhood/sisterhood.

The Alpha Kappa Rho – Polanco Municipal Council, in partnership with the Alpha Kappa Rho – Provincial Council of Zamboanga del Norte and the Delta Gamma Chapter of Brgy. Maligaya, Polanco, Zamboanga del Norte, proudly conducted a Feeding Program Activity at Maligaya Elementary School on December 11, 2025.

This meaningful initiative underscores the fraternity’s unwavering commitment to community service and its dedication to nurturing the health and well-being of young learners. By providing nutritious meals, the program not only alleviates immediate hunger but also promotes the holistic growth of children—supporting their physical development, enhancing their academic performance, and fostering positive social and emotional well-being during their formative years.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Provincial Grand Skeptron (PGS) of Zamboanga del Norte – Doney Mario Pagente, Polanco Municipal Council Grand Skeptron (PMCGS) – Bimboy Insoy and his officers, the Maligaya Elementary School administration, and all the Grand Skeptron chapters, members, and stakeholders whose collective effort and generosity made this memorable event possible.
