Following the successful conduct of the Closing Events 2026, West Visayas State University Pototan Campus convened a Post-Evaluation Meeting with a modest luncheon on June 1, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Audio-Visual Center to comprehensively assess the implementation of the campus' culminating academic ceremonies and identify opportunities for future enhancement.
The activity brought together campus key officials and committee chairpersons or their representatives who played vital roles in the planning and ex*****on of the Baccalaureate Mass, Recognition Program, and 80th Commencement Exercises. The gathering served as a venue for reflection, accountability, knowledge-sharing, and continuous improvement.
The program commenced with a prayer, the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and the WVSU Hymn, followed by an inspirational message from Campus Administrator Dr. Raymund B. Gemora, who also served as presiding officer. In his remarks, Dr. Gemora expressed his sincere appreciation to all working committees, faculty members, staff, and support personnel whose dedication, teamwork, and commitment contributed to the orderly, meaningful, and successful conduct of the closing events.
He emphasized that while accomplishments deserve recognition, a thorough evaluation of processes, outcomes, and experiences is equally important in maintaining institutional excellence. He noted that every achievement presents an opportunity to learn valuable lessons that can further strengthen future undertakings.
A significant portion of the meeting was devoted to the presentation of Committee Observations and Insights. Each committee chairperson or representative provided a detailed assessment of committee duties and responsibilities, highlighting accomplishments, best practices, operational concerns, and the performance of individual members. The presentations generated constructive discussions and recommendations aimed at improving coordination, streamlining workflows, enhancing resource management, and elevating the overall experience of graduates, parents, guests, and stakeholders.
Participants likewise identified areas requiring improvement and proposed innovative strategies to further enhance the efficiency and quality of future campus events. Among the key factors cited as instrumental to the success of the recently concluded ceremonies were early planning, clearly defined responsibilities, comprehensive checklists, adherence to activity timelines, effective communication, timely decision-making, and strong teamwork among committees.
The meeting also addressed the submission of liquidation requirements to ensure transparency, accountability, and compliance with financial management procedures. An inventory of materials and supplies utilized during the closing events was likewise undertaken to account for campus resources and facilitate more efficient preparations for future activities.
As per the data presented by Dr. Raquel P. Pedrajas, Post-Evaluation Committee chair, a total of 153 respondents, primarily guests (54.9%) and graduates/students (37.3%), evaluated the 80th Recognition Program. Results showed a high level of satisfaction, with 64.7% rating the event organization as excellent and 24.2% as good. The speakers and presentations were likewise well-received, with 63.4% rating them excellent. Overall satisfaction with the ceremony, logistics, and facilities was very positive, with most respondents reporting they were either satisfied or very satisfied.
For future ceremonies, respondents recommended improving venue ventilation, providing additional seating or a larger venue, engaging professional photographers, and enhancing the visibility of text displayed on the LED wall to further improve the event experience.
Likewise, a total of 372 respondents, composed mainly of graduates/students (96%), evaluated the 80th Commencement Exercises. Results showed very high satisfaction, with 89.5% rating the organization of the event as Excellent, 91.4% giving an Excellent rating to the guest speaker and presentations, 86.8% expressing they were Very Satisfied with the ceremony, and 83.3% being Very Satisfied with the logistics and facilities.
Key recommendations for future ceremonies included improving venue ventilation and cooling, increasing seating capacity, considering an alternative venue or late afty schedule, providing water for attendees, and strengthening crowd control, among others.
More than a simple assessment exercise, the post-evaluation meeting reflected the campus' shared commitment to quality assurance, organizational effectiveness, and responsible stewardship of resources. By transforming experiences into actionable insights and concrete recommendations, the activity reaffirmed West Visayas State University Pototan Campus' continuing pursuit of excellence and its determination to make future closing events even more meaningful, efficient, and memorable for all stakeholders. ๐คท
