Parol originates from the Filipino word "parol" meaning "lantern" or "light". It is a traditional Filipino Christmas decoration characterized by vibrantly colored lights, papers, or other materials. It symbolizes guiding light star, integral part of Filipino Christmas traditions, and reflects Philippine history, faith and artistry.
This parol represents the Bachelor of Arts in Political Science program of PSU-PCAT. It is handy made by the officers of the Junior Parliamentarian Organization with so much effort, dedication, and determination.
The parol is made of indigenous materials such as colorful wooden beads, crania, corn, mahogany, braided mat, sinamay, nito chain, indigenous cloth, bamboo and bamboo strap which were intricately arranged in details by the creative hands of BAPS students.
