Taken from the name “Perlas ng Silanganan” or “Pearl of the Orient” where Palawan was first set on the Philippine map, the group acts as the cultural arm and official performing arts organization of PPCI. The group is open to all bona fide students of PPCI who are interested in folk dancing and are willing to commit their time and effort for the organization. As the na

me suggests, the PPCI-PSDT logo embodies the image and beauty of a pearl. The blue-shaded color of its shell symbolizes the lucid water of the east where the island of Palawan rests. The pearl inside signifies the rich culture of the country that shines vividly to capture people with its charm. With our solemn pledge to become cultural ambassadors of the country, the PPCI-PSDT is committed to PROMOTE culture through dance, SHARE knowledge to the people, and DEVELOP the innate talents of the students through MALAYANG PAGLALAYAG… MAKULAY NA PAG-INDAK.

Sa gitna ng entablado, sa ilalim ng ilaw,
Ikaw ang nagsisilbing aming gabay at tanglaw.
Hindi lang simpleng kumpas ang iyong ibinibigay,
Kundi pag-asa at disiplina sa aming mga buhay.

Sa bawat "five, six, seven, eight"na iyong sambit,
Kasama ang pagpupursiging sa amin ay laging bitbit.
Kung kami ay nadarapa at tila ay pagod na,
Nariyan ang iyong kamay, handang itayo kaming muli, sinta.

Higit pa sa koreograpiya at tamang pormasyon,
Ang itinuro mo sa amin ay wagas na dedikasyon.
Para kang isang AMA na sa amin ay nag-aaruga,
Pinupuna ang mali upang sa huli ay mamunga.

Ngayong iyong kaarawan, aming pasasalamat ay tanggapin,
Ang iyong mga sakripisyo ay hinding-hindi lilimutin.
Salamat sa tiyaga, sa tawa, at maging sa pagsungit,
Dahil sa iyo, ang pangarap namin ay unti-unting nakakamit.
