Criminology Interns from Palawan State University (PSU), through the initiative of the Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Puerto Bay, participated in an educational Sub-Station Lecture and Tour focused on maritime safety and operations.
The activity provided the interns with essential knowledge on proper boat handling while traveling, including safety measures and best practices during navigation. Discussions also covered the necessary permits and legal requirements needed to operate a vessel, highlighting the importance of compliance with maritime regulations.
As part of the hands-on learning experience, the interns were guided through an actual boat tour where Coast Guard personnel demonstrated how the vessel operates. They were also introduced to the different parts of the boat and their specific functions, giving them a deeper understanding of maritime operations.
The initiative aimed to enhance the internsโ awareness and competence in maritime safety, while strengthening their practical knowledge through real-life demonstrations and guided instruction.
