Student writers from Capiz State University (CAPSU) earned top honors at the RISTEK Global Essay Competition (RGEC) 2026, held virtually on August 24, 2026.

Hosted by the Universitas Pekalongan (UNIKAL) in Indonesia, RGEC 2026 provided a global platform for university students to propose innovative and creative solutions to various global challenges.

Team ๐—”๐—œ๐—ฉ๐—ฅ๐—˜๐—ก ๐—ช๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€ from the CAPSU Pontevedra Campus secured Second Place overall after winning the Gold Award in the Environment category. Led by Renzy Myer Bulahan, with members Ma. Crystal Ivory Dapat and Angel Roa, the team presented their paper, โ€œThe New Clark City Blueprint: Balancing Semiconductor Ambitions with Ecological Realities,โ€ during the final round. They were mentored by Dr. Jereline D. De Pablo.

Adding to the university's performance, Team EduVisionaries from the CAPSU Roxas City Main Campus won a Silver Medal in the Health category. Composed of Jonna Mae Alim, Ashley Grace Dela Cruz, and Gracy Jane Delos Santos, the group submitted an entry entitled โ€œHealing Beyond Facts: A Youth-Led Community Response to Health Misinformation Through Project K.A.L.I.N.G.A.โ€ The team was guided by Dr. Ginalyn G. Dacles.

๐—œ๐—–๐—ฌ๐— ๐—œ | Dr. Linan calls for unity amid CAPSUโ€™s challenges and gains

โ€œThese challenges do not define us; our response to them does.โ€

This was the message emphasized by Capiz State University (CAPSU) President Dr. Efren L. Linan as he reflected on the universityโ€™s progress and the challenges that remain during his second State of the University Address, August 18.

In the weeks leading to the opening of classes, Dr. Linan personally visited CAPSU campuses and satellite colleges to assess their conditions, speak with faculty and personnel, and identify concerns requiring the attention of the University administration.

โ€œThese visits have allowed us to see firsthand both the progress we have made and the areas where more work must still be done,โ€ he said, noting that the conditions of some physical facilities and the increasing effects of climate-related disruptions on teaching and learning remain among the concerns observed during his visits.

As the university continues to address these challenges, Dr. Linan also emphasized that CAPSUโ€™s accomplishments are a product of the collective efforts of its entire community.

โ€œMy dear CAPSU family, these accomplishments are not mine alone. They belong to the teachers who work tirelessly behind every student's success story. They belong to our non-teaching personnel who keep our gears running smoothly. And they belong to you, our students, whose resilience, artistry, and thirst for knowledge inspire our administration every single day,โ€ he said.

Recognizing the shared efforts behind the universityโ€™s progress, Linan encouraged the CAPSU community to build on its momentum and face the future with determination and unity.

โ€œWe have built a powerful momentum, but our journey into the future has only just begun. Hand in hand, let us move forward with absolute resolve, unified strength, and an unshakable belief that we can achieve even greater heights,โ€ he said.

He concluded by reaffirming his call for the university community to move forward with a shared purpose: โ€œWith unwavering faith in our people and clear purpose in our mission, let us continue to lead, to innovate, to serve, and to rise as ONE CAPSU!โ€

โ€ŽCapiz State University (CAPSU) - Main Campus once again made its mark on the licensure stage producing passers and a topnotcher in the recently concluded August 2026 Mechanical Engineering Licensure Examination (MELE) and Certified Plant Mechanic Computer-Based Licensure Examination (CPMLE), per official results released by PRC, August 13.

โ€ŽA total of 18 examinees from CAPSU - Main passed the MELE, yielding an institutional passing rate of 66.67% against the national passing rate of 36.95%. Meanwhile, 21 hit the mark in CPMLE, recording an institutional passing rate of 84% compared to the national rate of 76.76%.

โ€ŽAdditionally, leading the roster of successful examinees is Cris Alianza of BSME CAPSU - Main after securing the Top 6 in CPMLE with a rating of 84.65%.

โ€ŽThis remarkable milestone stand as another testament to the continuous commitment of CAPSU in producing competent professionals who uphold excellence in their field.

CAPSU takes top spots in the August 2026 Certified Plant Mechanics Licensure Exam

Capiz State University (CAPSU) congratulates Cris Alianza, a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering graduate of CAPSU Main Campus, for placing Top 6 in the August 2026 Certified Plant Mechanics Computer Based Licensure Examination with a rating of 84.65%.

CAPSU Main Campus also ranked Top 1 among the top performing schools, posting an 84.00% passing rate, with 21 passers out of 25 examinees.
