In light of the recent advisory issued by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB) regarding the haze affecting the MIMAROPA region, the University President strongly advises all students, faculty members, and administrative personnel are strongly advised to wear face masks while on campus grounds and during outdoor commutes.

The haze carries fine particulate matter (​PM2.5), which poses potential respiratory and cardiorespiratory health risks, particularly for vulnerable individuals, senior citizens, pregnant women, and those with pre-existing lung or heart conditions.

To ensure effective protection against fine ​PM2.5 pollution particles, please refer to the following recommended ​mask types​: N95, KN95, or FFP2 Respirators (Highly Recommended)​, N99 Respirators​, or Cloth or Standard Dust Masks​.

Precautionary Measures
1. Wear an N95, KN95, or FFP2 mask whenever outdoors or in non-air conditioned areas across all campus premises.
2. Minimize prolonged or heavy physical exertion outdoors until air quality conditions improve.
3. ​Keep classroom windows and doors closed when air conditioning units are operational to prevent haze infiltration.
4. Individuals experiencing throat irritation, coughing, eye discomfort, or shortness of breath are urged to visit the PSU Health Services Unit or consult a medical professional immediately.
