On this special occasion, we celebrate our teachers and honor the dedication, wisdom, and compassion they bring to their profession each day. Thank you for the patience that never runs out, the lessons that go beyond the classroom, and the hope you give to every student, even on the hardest days.

We likewise honor our non-teaching staff and the entire SLSU community, whose collective dedication sustains meaningful education each day.

To everyone who teaches, supports, serves, and inspires, we thank you for your invaluable contributions. Happy Teachers' Day!

Southern Leyte State University-San Juan Campus carried out the โ€œReinforcement Activity for Mamanwa Studentsโ€ on September 30, 2026, at Malinao Multi-Grade Elementary School, following the recent signing of the Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division of Southern Leyte.

The activity was led by faculty members of the Teacher Education program, together with a visiting instructor, an education student facilitator, the Quality Assurance Head, and the Department Head. They worked hand in hand with the teachers of DepEd Malinao to ensure that the sessions matched the learnersโ€™ needs and complemented their classroom instruction.

Mamanwa learners took part in reinforcement sessions in Reading in both English and Filipino, Numeracy, and Science. The sessions gave learners additional support in foundational skills through guided, learner-centered activities. After the academic sessions, a feeding activity was held to ensure that the learners were nourished and cared for.

The activity reflects the Universityโ€™s commitment to inclusive and community-responsive extension, bringing its academic expertise closer to learners from Indigenous Cultural Communities and strengthening its partnership with DepEd.

The activity supports Sustainable Development Goal No. 1 (No Poverty), No. 2 (Zero Hunger), No. 4 (Quality Education), No. 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and No. 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through learning reinforcement, nutritional support, and strengthened institutional collaboration for Mamanwa learners.
