North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU) continues to expand educational access and strengthen its commitment to inclusive, relevant, and quality higher education across Northeastern Mindanao and beyond.

For the First Semester of Academic Year 2025–2026, the University records a total enrolment of 33,338 students distributed across the NEMSU campuses, reflecting the continuing trust and confidence of learners, families, and communities in the University’s academic programs and public service mission.

The enrolment data represents students from Tandag Main Campus, the Satellite Campuses of Bislig, Cagwait, Cantilan, Lianga, San Miguel, and Tagbina, as well as the Marihatag Extension Campus — collectively working as One NEMSU in delivering transformative education and responsive community engagement.

This is the University’s continuing efforts to provide accessible learning opportunities, strengthen academic delivery, support student success, and empower communities through education.

The Information Office of North Eastern Mindanao State University—San Miguel Campus issues this weekly advisory to all students, employees, and surrounding communities concerning the meteorological conditions and their potential impacts for the period of May 11–17, 2026. This advisory is based on local campus data sourced from the Automatic Weather Station—Project FARM—which is managed by DOST-SDS, LGU-San Miguel, NEMSU-San Miguel, and San Miguel Farmers Enterprise, alongside other reliable forecast systems such as Weather Underground.

The weather forecast for this week indicates a prolonged period of intense, scorching heat paired with daily chances of afternoon and evening precipitation. From Monday through Thursday, the campus will experience consistently severe daytime high temperatures of 36°C, coupled with Partly Rainy conditions. During these four days, the probability of rainfall steadily increases each day, starting at 50% on Monday and peaking at a significant 66% chance by Thursday. These rain events are predominantly expected between the late morning and early evening hours, with Thursday's rain window stretching extensively from 9 AM to 9 PM.

As the week approaches its end, the weather will transition to slightly drier, partly cloudy conditions from Friday to Sunday. While the extreme heat lessens slightly, daytime highs remain very warm, registering at 35°C on Friday and Sunday and 34°C on Saturday. Rain probabilities will decrease heading into the weekend, dropping to 27% on Friday and hitting a weekly low of 18% on Saturday, before rising back to a moderate 45% chance on Sunday. Nighttime temperatures throughout the entire week will remain notably warm and muggy, fluctuating only between 22°C and 24°C.

With extreme temperatures consistently reaching 36°C early in the week, students and personnel must prioritize heat safety by staying hydrated, seeking shaded or well-ventilated areas, and minimizing strenuous outdoor activities during peak sun hours. Furthermore, the combination of intense heat and frequent "Partly Rainy" afternoons means high humidity and sudden downpours are likely; carrying an umbrella daily is strongly advised to protect against both the intense sun and sudden rain showers. Staying updated with localized weather alerts remains mandatory to ensure a safe week on campus.
