The Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU) has once again secured a place in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2026, improving its overall standing from the previous year, June 24.
The THE Impact Rankings is a global assessment that measures universities' contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through their research, stewardship, outreach, and teaching.
In its second year of participation, LSPU advanced to the 1001โ1500 overall ranking band in 2026, up from its 2025 placement in the 1501+ bracket. The University also earned recognition in five SDG categories:
โข SDG 5: Gender Equality โ 401โ600
โข SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions โ 401โ600
โข SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being โ 801โ1000
โข SDG 4: Quality Education โ 1001+
โข SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals โ 1001โ1500
LSPU is among the 1,603 higher education institutions worldwide included in this yearโs THE Impact Rankings.
Representing the University, under the leadership of University President Dr. Mario R. Briones, Prof. Nimfa Dimaculangan, Director for International Affairs, personally received the recognition during the awarding ceremony held as part of the THE Global Sustainable Development Congress in Jakarta, Indonesia, from June 22 to 25, 2026.
This achievement reflects the collective dedication and sustained efforts of LSPUโs students, faculty, staff, and administrators in advancing sustainable development and strengthening the University's vision of becoming a leading, sustainable ASEAN Polytechnic University.
The recognition further affirms LSPUโs growing impact on the global stage and its commitment to fostering inclusive, innovative, and sustainable communities through excellence in education, research, and public service.
